I had one on my car for about 6 months. That’s how long it took to blow the packing out. I never took a picture looking into it, but the one I posted is how it’s made.

Cool thx. Guess I’m not going with them. Going to hit up solo 2maro to see about there Mach Xv. Or just going with 2 resonators. The email I received from maganflow told me to put this or cats on. Explained stainless works said cats will not hold up to over 700rwh.

Can’t fling it sorry mate.
Having said that, I expected to notice a reasonable restriction with it fitted. Can’t say that I can even tell, other than the SIGNIFICANT decrease in noise, even though it was replacing a pair of 18” hot dogs.

:shrug: 9.35@151 with the 12469 feeding into stock active at 925 wheel. No issues here.

Here is a double 3" to double 3" muffler that says its an X pipe design from magnaflow now.. Anyone try one of these?

Home built resonator delete on my 2018. This MF muffler is true 3" in and out.

Before this install, it was too loud since I added the MAK deletes. Had to chop off the factory connects on the MAK pipes and then the muffler was welded straight to the MAK pipes.

Ran some 3" pipe to the axle backs.

Car sounds amazing!! Highly recommended.

I spoke with Magnaflow on this and they didn't recommend the 12469 for my application(similar to yours). Although others have used it and not had detrimental results. I could'nt wrap my head around necking my 3" exhaust down to 2.5" then back to 3" so I ended up using there bottle style resonators. Like so:

They won't quiet things down as much as the larger suitcase style units but they did the trick for me.
So funny story. For anyone wondering about the double Y magnaflow mid muffler (part number 12469) making power due to it tapering down to one single 3” pipe. I just realized I originally order that almost 3 years ago. And was on the car when it went 9.2 @ 151mph. Didn’t realize it until I ordered a tru x magnaflow (part number 12599) and realized it didn’t fit. Went back to my emails from 2019 and sure enough it was a 12469 double Y mid muffler.

Also, I went to the track with an actual x pipe on the car. And only changes we’re baer brakes, removing the mid double y muffler for an x pipe and a little more boost. And for some reason the car was down 2 mph when it should have gone up. Might have nothing to do with the mid pipe. But going to be adding the double y muffler and not changing a thing to see if the mph goes up. it’s either the brakes sticking or the mid pipe.

Only one cylinder fires at a time. I suspect the single 3 inch keeps velocity up which helps scavenge the exhaust.

Ed Henneman (sp) was a pioneer of having proper exhaust velocity.
