The Verus Engineering rear diffuser group buy is here. This was a limited production piece CFD tested by Verus and offered for all S550 Models. Fitment on the GT350 has proven to be quite beautiful as well. I was fortunate to obtain one of the last pieces available, and after much interest I have organized a group buy to get them back into production. This will likely be a one shot deal, and Verus was gracious enough to entertain it. It has been made clear that outside of this group buy the rear diffusers may not be available again anytime soon. One of those times where it is best to make a move now.

Rear diffusers are made from aluminum and matte black powder coated. GT350 models with differential coolers will need to make modifications to the Verus piece, while tech pack/GT cars can bolt right on. Diff cooler cars will need to remove your OEM rear diffuser, take off the OEM NACA duct that feeds the rear diff cooler, mock the OEM NACA ducts onto the Verus piece, cut the NACA ducts on the Verus piece, and reattach the OEM NACA ducts onto the verus piece. Installation should be achievable in a few hours time with some basic hand tools and cutting apparatus like a dremel or small jig. It’s an easy process and well worth the end result.

Trent Musser of Cortex Racing in Sonoma, California is more than happy to work with anyone that needs installation done or troubleshooting. They did a great job on mine and took 2-3 hours. Benefits of the rear diffuser, additional data, photos, and install instructions can be found on the web page for Verus below.

We need a minimum of 15 paid orders to make this happen. Diffusers will take 6-8 weeks to build. Retail cost on these is 559.95 + Shipping. The group buy will remain at the retail cost of 559.95, but include free shipping which is a $70-$90 value. Applicable to the contiguous 48 states only. A 50% deposit is needed to get your name on the list and nothing happens until we get the initial 15. Group buy will run until 11/30/19. If we don’t meet the minimum then all money gets returned.

*** I spent a little time under the rear of a 2020 GT500 last week and the rear cooling setup is basically the same as the GT350/R. This should work for that platform as well**

That piece looks great, I'd consider it at that price if the cuts were made and the holes drilled. I'm okay with final assembly, I'm good with my hands.. but I'm not sure I'm crafty enough to cut in to something like that.

Its an easy process brother. Fit your old vents onto the new diffuser and drill the holes so you have a reference point. Flip the diffuser over and match up the holes so you can trace the area to cut. Cut them out, and rivet it back on. If you can swap brake pads then you can do this for sure.

This will fit the base Gt correct? I do see that there are some issue with aftermarket exhausts, I currently own a corsa extreme on my car. I don't want to buy it and find out it does not work.

There is a pretty decent level of adjustment on the rear diffuser. The website lists several exhausts that need modification to fit, such as bending of a bracket. Making a small modification to your existing exhaust should be a drop in the bucket

Will the piece come with directions for the cuts as well?

The install instructions will only cover the actual installation of the diffuser onto the car, not modification to add on the NACA ducts. For that portion you need to call Trent over at Cortex in Sonoma.

We got our 15 minimum! Whoop! Took the car on a 600 mile drive today and saw 3 MPG more than before. Pretty slick.

You might want to add this to the GT sub form as well, it might help with getting the 15 orders.

I am in as well, I have used these diffusers since they were called Velox. They are very good at cleaning up the air under the rear of the car. For full on track duty I have added an extension piece to carry the diffuser to the center line of the rear axle. The addition of the extension was noticeable at speed giving the rear end an even more planted feel on mid speed sweepers. The quality of the units are great, they are tough, and have been used on 4 of my full track builds with great success.

If I had a single complaint about the product is that it is never in stock when I need it, hence I am joining the group buy and will be buying 2 units.
