181mph over a standing mile in the wet

Had some fun today at Elvington airfield with the Yorkshire super car owners club. They arranged an Event with Straightliners for a top speed run over a standing mile.

I took part just because i was curious as to what my car will do.
For those who don't know, the car is supercharged and around 740bhp.

I had 6 runs but one was poor, the car didn't like the exhaust valves being closed and it retarded the ignition so only got to 157 on that run. All the rest of the runs the valves stayed open.

I placed 6th out of 26 cars with my best of 181.286mph

I along with a lot of other rwd cars struggled with traction. in the video below I didn't start getting grip until around 80+ so just nursed it up to speed until i could go wide open throttle.

In the video i hit the limiter in 5th at 182mph.

Standard sizes but Vredestein Ultrac Vorti tyres.

need wider and more sticky tyres next time.
