Looking at different pictures of the 2015+ Mustangs I noticed that some have fake carbon dash trim and others have aluminum.

After 30 minutes of googling I couldn't find a clear answer which package comes with which.

I have a 2017 GT premium and it comes with the fake carbon, but others seem to have aluminum in their premiums.

Which trim comes with which package?

V6 - carbon fiber pattern (plastic)
Base EB/GT, CA special - silver carbon fiber pattern (aluminum)
Premium EB/GT - brushed pattern (aluminum)
PP EB/GT - machine turned pattern (aluminum)
50th Anniversary - lapped pattern (aluminum)
GT350/GT350R - black brushed pattern (aluminum)

The different "finishes" are actually just patterned opaque film over real aluminum to give it the desired effect. The V6 is the only one that is all plastic.

Yours should be the brushed aluminum finish since you have a premium, unless you have California Special which had the silver carbon fiber pattern. Post a picture so we can see.

Awesome, thank you.

I forgot to mention that I have the PP and it looks like that:
Frankly it does feel kinda cheap and not like aluminum.

Yup, that trim is correct for PP cars. The dash trim actually is aluminum, thin gauge about 1-2mm thick. The metal turned finish is actually a patterned thin opaque film over the aluminum.

I actually liked my fake carbon fiber plastic in my V6. I have the brushed aluminum now.

I'm thinking of woodgrain like my 69 had...now that I have a spare set of trim to play with

I thought the brushed aluminum looked out of place so I broke out the vinyl wrap as a cheap solution...
