Car is up and running so i got to spend some time driving. I got the dual loud valves so at 5psi or so the actuator opens the exhaust like having dumps. Anyway id like some feedback on people who have them because im not digging these things, when idling it just sounds like a bad exhaust leak and just sucks. I have adjusted them shorter so the actuator is pulling closed with more pressure, which did help but still kind of sounds like ass, anyone with some experience on these?? I have contacted hellion and waiting on them to call back as well.

I’d love to hear feedback on this as well. I ordered my Street Sleeper kit about 2 weeks ago and just had the turbos show up.

I ordered the “loud valve” option to be able to keep the docile factory exhaust while not giving up WOT performance. I’ve had cars with electronic cutouts before and understand that there is SOME compromise with any sort of moving device in the exhaust (minor rattling, a small leak, etc).

I just hope I didn’t make a mistake with that portion of the build.

Interesting. I was planning on getting them also and using the stock exhaust. Maybe I'll just stick with my adjustable catback.

i love the dual loud valve on my personal 17, love it, drove 9 hours each way to the race in georgia and had no issues with the sound while not under boost

the free flowing def helps on the turbo car, it is one of the key upgrades i recommend to customers

Just to be clear it’s not crazy loud, they just are not sealing, so if I pull up to a light or when the car is Idling I car hear a small exhaust leak sound. So if the windows are up I don’t even hear it. But at the same time I don’t want my 2018 with 6k miles on it to sound like a junk yard build with exhaust leaks

the thing is, cutouts have to be able to move, and , you can put rubber in there due to the extreme temps, not to mention some exhaust will always be wanting to push against it. just the nature of the design

I guess, I was thinking of maybe a copper ring around the outer edge, but I wish I would have knew I was paying a extra $500 for exhaust leaks, lol. Hopefully hellion will call me back with some good tricks to try.

Hello.

The loudvalves are very sturdy and usually do not have any leaks. There are many factors that can affect the position including tension and the vacuum setup. We will have someone contact you today to help with a resolution.

A quiet valve is a better performing valve. It is unnecessary pressure being released. A loud valve is only opening a little bit thus you hear it blowing off. The quicker it is released the better.

Say what??

Talked to hellion today, I’m possibly a dumb ass, put before I say why I need to explain myself, so when you order a hellion turbo kit everything is laid out in such a meticulous way and the material they give you is almost exact, giving exact measurements and how to cut everything from vacuum lines and oil lines etc. so with that said, they only give you like 5’ extra of vacuum line when the loud valves are ordered, so that’s not much when you have two tee’d together, I thought the closest place to get boost reference would be right off the compressor housing. So that’s what I did and basically hellion told me in a nice way that it has to go to a source that see’s vacuum as well. I told hellion I was thinking that but also thought they would have provided more vacuum line. He agreed and said they would make a Revision on their end as well. So as soon as I get it ran to my vacuum block I’ll report back.

Glad they got you squared away!

I’ve heard numerous people say the included hoses aren’t quite long enough. I always figure calculate what you need, then add 10-15%. What’s an extra $1-2 compared to the aggravation of running out of houses? Hopefully they start including more of everything.

Hellion is great to deal with but skimping on the hose length is a pain in the ass. They will damn near fall on the sword and swear they have tested it on multiple cars but they should just provide a few extra inches of line. I did not have enough 8an oil drain line. They did send me a new piece.

Hello.

We definitely did not try to purposely skimp on anything. We install kits here from our checklist and if we run into an issue we try to correct it right away. We do not want to delay an installation on something like a short line. We strive to be the best aftermarket company and always listen to our customers to make the product better every day.

I know this thread is a year old but did the new routing of the lines including a vacuum source for the loud valves fix your exhaust leak sound with the exhaust When running quiet?

Thanks
Ken
