Other colors were built/in process prior to restriction to the 4 colors.
It appears that the color restriction didn't take effect until they started building customer (Retail/Stock) cars. It looks like Ford didn't have a color problem when it came to the Factory ordered production cars. VINs 0001-0131.

Why the restrictions on other colors? They are using them on other mustangs, seen a twister Orange 350R on autotrader already delivered to dealer

Nothing to do with the color themselves, but limiting colors helped the plant process as many customer cars as possible given the issue. The 4 colors had the most customer orders.

Definitely good info, Earl and as Jamie said, many thanks.

Jaime: I was thinking of you and your car when I built that avatar. :-)

Edit: Tomorrow is allegedly my "blend date" so what should I expect to see on the data dump, Earl..."Sent to Body Shop?" I'll be up at zero dark thirty as I usually am so I'll be checking that link starting around 0700 CST as I don't know when the folks at Flat Rock start the first shift on Mondays. Midnight perhaps? 0600, 0800?
For some reason that one sticks in my mammories

Laughing pretty hard here, Earl...cracked me up. Very witty, amigo.

PS - I bet they were about half the price of the CFTP option. ;-)

I love watching this from afar and excited for anyone who ordered one of these amazing cars.

Snoopy49, is there a place where you put the timeline for the cars? I would like to know what each step means. I know people order the car, then eventually when Ford is ready to build it, the car gets a VIN.
From what I can see it goes Sent to Plant (starting the build process on the line?), Body Shop (Is there where the paint is done, or putting all the body pieces on?), Trim Line (where all the extra body stuff goes on?).
I am clueless about everything. I have tried to follow along. I am fascinated. Once the car is completed, how long does it take to be delivered to the dealer, or can someone arrange pickup to get it faster than rail/truck delivery? What about watching your own car being made as that would be an amazing opportunity.

I have read all over the forums that there is a reason for all of the pushing back of the build dates, but I am now seeing it is paint, what about the paint is causing the issue, or is there a bigger problem causing the delays? It is so weird that there is a lockdown of information. You would thinking Ford would want to celebrate these cars, but it seems like they are holding everything close to the vest.

I cannot wait to see one in the wild.

All the best,
Don

Thanks, Tom, and I do think Miss "Got Milk" is one of my better efforts but then, the photos seemed to beckon one another. :-)
