I found this guy on the road after leaving a cars and coffee. The guy driving it would not even look over at me as I tried to get him to go. I am guessing since it had manufacturer plates he was under orders to not do anything stupid. Pretty cool looking car in person...... The second picture is of my wifes vette after i got back in line and she went by....

Cool find. An improvement over the C7, except for the Civic-like areas of patterned black plastic on each side. Just not a fan of any past the C6. Loved the styling of that and everything before.

I need to see one in the wild to really judge. To me the rear is too Camaro-ish, which makes me involuntary dry heave every time I see it.
At least gm went with the 16 Camaro taillights and not the dopey looking 19 lights. Every time they touch the Camaro. They find a way to make it look worse. It’s like they are trying to get it discontinued.

I've seen acceleration videos of the C8....so far, I'm not impressed at all, no way it hits a flat 3 second 0-60! From what I see, I have zero fear of this new Vette from a dig while in my 500 whp '18...but I'm full Steeda suspension, n/a E85 with Nitto dr's. Funny how a new car with all the new tech is still using a pushrod engine, weighing in about 400 lbs less than a base Mustang like mine, with all the advantages of rear engine, and it still likely can't beat a tuned/suspension/drag radial Mustang down the 1/4 mile....a car which I only have 50k invested in total btw. :)

2 magazines tested it this week and confirmed the sub 3 sec and 11.1-11.2 1/4 mile on all season radials. So that’s without DR’s. Grand pa might take you if he took his viagra that day.

I'm not a huge fan of tacked-on stuff, but in this case, I really think it needs a lip spoiler. Not a big obnoxious wing, but something to give it the kick-in-the-butt it sorely needs. I'm sure the aftermarket is already working on it.

I sincerely hope those black grilles are functional. Otherwise, RICE.

I prefer the C6 to the C7 as well (while recognizing the engineering improvements in the C7), but the more I see of the C8, the more I prefer the C7 over it.

one was right in front of me and turned into my kids school. If you like big butts you'll love the C8. If not you don't want to put anything on that rear that makes it stand out.

I haven't quite figured out if I like it or not, but I'm sure I'll come across one in the wild soon enough. Pictures never tell the whole story, but what they do tell me is that it looks like a collection of a lot of things going on in sports car design right now. It's like they swiped a little DNA from everybody, and a lot of DNA from the Camaro.

I don't necessarily like a fat ass, but I think Infiniti got us all conditioned to it years ago when they gave this to the world.

Grandpa better be wearing something other than his usual Birkenstock sandals because I don't believe this new car is capable of those numbers...and I already know for a fact, my Mustang is. :)

This is the very reason why I think that wing on the new GT500 looks rice...and so does the hood...and don't get me started on that stupid rotary knob that is supposed to replace the shifter and be liked by anyone who isn't from a video game playing generation (like me). LOL

What fell on it?

To me it looks too "flat" and the back is way too wide. Not a fan.

I grew up playing video games (at arcades) but I was pretty disappointed to see a rotary knob where a shifter should be in this car. But they're all going this direction with their 'extreme' sports cars. 911 GT2....fantastically fast car, ugly scaffolding bolted to the back, and a 7-speed auto. I believe there is a scaffolding delete option on that car, however, leaving a pretty decent looking spoiler.

Technically, the auto trans is faster, but I grew up in an era when you peer through the window of the biggest and baddest from any automaker, you saw a manual shifter. Progress.

that rear doesn't look good to me, looks like it got stepped on, maybe its due to being a base and not having a spoiler. im sure ill change my mind when people start modding them.
