Update .
Clutches are gone.
Ford is swapping the entire trans .

Did the shop determine that by way of stored codes, data logging during test drive or abnormal trans fluid color?

Keep us posted.

Where you experiencing any other abnormalities when driving the car off-track under ‘normal’ conditions?

I did have some little miss shifting (or hesitation between NEUTRAL and D) but i thought was kind of normal. Very rare tho .
Nothing else .
My believe is although those trans put the yellow line of the gauge around 255 they cannot go anywhere above 230 cause clutches will start to have issues.
Apperently heat in the 10r80 is a worse enemy than 6r80

Does sound like a clutch slip.
Kinda weird that the TCM would even allow that.
There should be torque management to limit the amount of torque during shifting.
Something is not right.

I just ordered my parts today to piece together a tranny cooler set up to piggy back the factory cooler. I hope to start on it next week and see how far we get. I'll keep you in the loop as I know we have been discussing this.

Is the new or rebuilt trans holding up to HPDE with the added cooler?

The cooler 25 rows does an excellent job maintaining the temp below 220 with 104f outside. I still believe if we can remove the body valve that opens at 190f we will fix all the issue( there is a guy doing it in arizona for the 6r80..)

Problem is
this huge cooler with the oil cooler trasmits too much heat at the radiator (mishi bigger one) overheating at 245f the engine.
So now I did ducts and water spray system :)
Testing it saturday at chuckwalla with 90f

For those of you who is following my temps issues. Here an update with the 3 modifications i did
1. Wickers on hood vents
2. Boxing and ducting
3. Water spray
Update on temps

Oil engine
From 285F to 240max

Trans temp
From 225 to 210

Engine
From 245 to 225

3rd session with 88f
I tried not to spray. Max oil temp 260. (REAL GAUGE)
WITH SPRAY 240
The system DOES WORK.
I'm soooooo freaking happy :) although I couldn't concentrate on driving lol i keep watching those temps while driving and get emotional. (I still won though :) )
I hope they will stay like that.

The idea is great. But this is for the trucks for what i know while in the mustang the bodyvalve is inside the trans. I could be wrong tho.
There is another company working on bypassing it in the stang.
After thinking more would this help at all on track? It may keep the tranny colder longer from startup but once the valve is opened say 190F? Then an added cooler might be the better route?
