Another vote for Indyhawks on a boosted car. I run 285's on rear and yes of course 1st and most of 2nd is trash but I can actually hook up at like 40 mph if it's warm enough out. It may not be perfect hookup and no spin but it's super controllable and considerably better than any other street tire I've tried.

Also, 275 would be the narrowest tire I'd consider running in the rear with boost. Also, don't forget about brakes...these cars are very easy to get to 150, however, slowing down is not so fun.

Running NT555r's here with great results. Holding 2nd gear pulls mostly. Had Nitto G2's at first and they were useless.

I have 19" wheels and Nitto 555r 305 in back and 285 on front. I got new SVE gloss black wheels from LMR 19 x 10s that work fine. Hook pretty well and seem to do okay on wet pavement. The stock 235 Pirellis were useless in the first three gears. I have a 6sp with 3.31 rear gears which are perfect for my daily commute, mostly freeway driving.
Nitto 555R do not come in 19" size, only NT05R do on Nitto Side. NT05R is a better tire in good weather. 555R is more forgiving in shitty weather

Good to know, thanks. I also have a 3.31s so I'm hoping that will help vs people's experiences with 3.73s.

275 indy 500's are working for me plus they do great in corners and ok in rain.

Anyone have direct experience comparing the 555 g2 to the Indy 500’s?

I’ve never used the Firehawks, but the G2s never stood a chance. I switched from them to PSSes and it was like night and day.

Indy 500s at 275/40 sound like the way to go for a street only car. Good treadwear, decent rain performance and most importantly good grip for what I plan to do with the car.

im running cooper rs3,s 305/35 rears. and have no problems at all from a roll in any gear 70 degree day on a little warm up just driving around.. stab it from a 40 roll she hooks well

Ah, thanks. So if the ps4s don’t work but are better than mpss, which are better than 555g2, then don’t bother with the g2. Any idea how Indy 500 compare to ps4s?

PSS and PS4 are similar; the PS4 is the replacement for the PSS but they still sell both.
