I currently have 1600 miles on my GT 350 R that I purchased new on august 27. I have not tracked the car but I have done some very aggressive driving on back roads. Best handling car I have ever owned. I have been checking the oil regularly and I have not had to add a single bit of oil as of yet. The dipstick is still showing that I have oil covering the lower circle and the hashed area/square box is covered with oil.

Is this possible ? Am I missing something ? Most people are adding a quart every 500-1000 miles.

While I am driving my oil pressure is good and the temperature runs around 200. oil pressure seems to be between 100-125.

I'd say your blessed. Non oil users are few and far between. But check your oil regularly. Some never use oil, some start, early, some start later on. Keep fingers crossed and enjoy your R.

Thank you. I am going to keep an eye on it. After a 300 mile drive yesterday I checked it when I got home and it was fine. I am going to check it today cold. This is my second Shelby and I have had no oil consumption issues. The first one was a 2017 GT 350 base loaded. Love BOTH !

I don't know what "most" people are. People who aren't having oil issues, like me, simply don't don't have that issue to post.
That is good to hear !

2017 GT350 now gone to a great home.
If I was adding oil every 500-1000 miles, I would not be happy.

The 19 motor seems to be doing much better with regards to oil consumption. Stil I think early signs of it in earlier motors was at about 4K miles. That’s when my 2018 started. My new 19 motor has 11k miles and is about 1 quart in 3k miles.

Both my 16 and 17 I had used a quart every 3,000 miles.

I was in the zero oil use for the first 5k miles on my 17R. Apparently things have changed as I just added 2quarts over the past 750 or so miles, but probably 450 of those were track use so I’m not sure how abnormal that is, other than it didn’t use any at all ever before. Will keep a close eye on it. Have 2qts travel buddy to events with me ;).

I am going to check it today cold.
That's my routine - prop the hood open every Saturday night and put a roll of paper towels on the radiator shroud - oil level and tire pressure get checked every Sunday morning cold.

That said, I have 3350 miles on my '19 w/ no oil issues. First oil change at 1650 miles and it hadn't budged from the factory fill. 1700 miles on this fill and it's still sitting on the top hole.

mine did not consume much at all, besides some in the catch can, before 6k miles. then it started getting worse out of nowhere. so enjoy, but keep on checking periodically.

My first motor didn't start burning oil until about 5K miles so too soon to say. 2nd motor seems great, over 6K miles on it, changed oil 4K ago and it's down about 0.5 qt

I sold my 16 Track pack with 13k miles, and it was not using any oil. I still have the spare quart of oil I was carrying with me on track days to top up. I have not tracked the R yet, but will next week; so far, it has not burned any oil on the street in 3000 miles.
