CPO recently purchased with 8800 miles. After my first hand wash I noticed the driver side was loose and there is a gap. Here’s a photo can anyone help me with this?

Body repair shop can reinforce it, or you can just accept it and use QuikLatches.

Quicklatch is what I ended up using. Looks like a proximity sensor, its not too bad.

Stupid clips are so fragile. No good way to fix them without replacing the bumper, permanently epoxying the wrong bits together, or just going quicklatch. Believe me I tried.

When I took my bumper off last time the clips on both sides started to break (about 1/2 to 2/3 broken), I was able to epoxy the clip on the under side using 3m panel bonding adhesive. Held the clip in place with masking tape until epoxy cured overnight(sets up in about 30-45 minutes). It doesn't take much epoxy to fix, too much would prevent bumper snapping back in.

use Quick Latch, since you have a black car it wont be as noticeable either.

If it's still under warranty, see if they'll cover it.

Welcome to the club man :)
1in quicklatches saved the day. There is now an S550 specific kit. Because so many cars have had this issue. It comes with 2 quick latches and some springs to give the bumper more support. I also hogged out my stock bumpr support it really helped it come out nice.

Just be sure to show the techs how to on latch them at service.

I used the shiny latches. They coordinate well with all the other shiny bits I've stuck on.

If it’s CPO, take it back to selling Dealer and have them fix it.

My guess is previous owner removed the bumper for a mod, or for some other reason. But if not caught before driving out of the dealership, Ford will say current owner removed it, and no way they'd warranty it. Having said that, the bumper shouldn't be ruined for removing it once, but I'm not surprised at all. EVERY freaking panel I've had to remove to either fix a rattle, or install something (or both), something gets damaged. It's just lousy engineering. They just want to put the damn part once, like if it was permanent. So Ford should fix it for being a POS, but we all know they're not going to do that. And same thing with an interior trim piece, I'm afraid.

Is this an issue only for the 15-17s or is it the entire range of S550s which have this problem?

Wouldn’t do quick latches although it doesn’t look bad, there shouldn’t be a black dot/hole on the fender of the car... just doesn’t look “right”.

The 18+ front bumper to fender attaches differently. They revised it over the 15’-17’s. It’s more robust and improved.
