My front headlights on my 2015 have this haze along the top almost like a line but it doesn't really go low or cover the middle or lower half. It also doesn't seem like its on the outside but more on the inside of the headlight housing. Has anyone else had this issue?

1. Pics.
2. It's a 5 year old car. Especially if it sits outside, stuff like that is going to happen.

Interesting. Is it garaged when not being driven? Also, whats the climate like where you are?

Mine has this as well. It's a 2015, built in 02/2015, and garaged at home from the day I got it (but sits outside in FL sun while I'm at work).

That little condensation is probably normal, and should go away when the temps rise or the lights have been on for awhile.

Check it in the middle of the day, and see if it's still there.

Yep that's exactly what mine look like, when I park it at home it is in the shade but at work I guess that Florida sun just destroys it.

If you are going to replace it stay away from the dealership.

LMR has both left/right housings for $600 i believe. You will need to transfer over the HID ballast.

I don't think it is condensation from what the OP is suggesting

It is UV damage and inevitable with time. It can be removed by mild abrasive polish such as T-Cut or even toothpaste. Unless the surface is coated with a UV protection film it will quickly return.

If I go to replace it, I'd definitely do some sort of modification like the Diode Dynamics WRGB led boards at least.

It's definitely on the inside of the lens housing. The outside is completely smooth and glossy.

If you’re going to replace, search on eBay... you can get really decent deals on there for head and tail lights. Then relist yours for sale to recoup some $$$... people take those things apart and modify them, so someone might want to buy them for mod purposes.

Also you can search out www.copart.com, but be expected to pay a little more.

FYI, I bought new housings for my 2500HD and although they looked identical to factory housings, the beam pattern could not be adjusted properly and the light scatter was horrible. Seriously, I could not see a difference betweent he two housings. I believe they were 125.00/pr shipped, factory housings are 125.00/each and those will be the next purchase.

If the Chinaloca's can't duplicate a factory halogen housing for a pickup correctly, I have ZERO faith they can get the Mustang LED housings correct.

I know this is a year old, but maybe it'll help somebody later on. I have a 2016 and was having the same problem. Then I had the corrosion on the hood that was replaced by Ford under warranty. Now my headlights really stood out. I figured I would try 1 of those headlight restoration kits. Heres some pic and I plan to do a little right up about it with more pics. The white stuff in the lens is the reflection of trash bags in the 2nd pic.

Have you put a UV finish over the top ? If not you need to as it will soon degrade again otherwise.

Polish the headlights and put paint protection film over it. Happened to the headlights on my dad’s car a few years ago. Had them polished and put PPF on. Still crystal clear years later.

If it’s condensation then you toss in some silica gel packs to reduce the condensation. That’s what I did when I retrofit headlights.

if you want new headlights I would suggest the LED headlights from The Retrofit Source.

the little kits for polishing headlights works great but...... they will not stay that way long unless you coat the headlight afterward with a UV sealer and I don't mean the $5-10 stuff either. you need a 2-part epoxy type sealer or a UV activated sealer and neither are cheap. the one I use is about $90 and will seal 20-30 sets (I do headlight restorations as a business)
the best thing you can do is sand down the original OEM UV coating, polish it back to perfect and UV seal them, then after a week or two, put on a clear headlight protective film to protect them from sand/rocks and road crap.
