I was tired of not being able to have the steering wheel I wanted. There are some great options out there as long as your Mustang is a 2015-2017 and not later. I decided I was going to shell out the cash and get rid of the comically lame factory wheel that came on my 2018 PP2. Here's what I did and I am pleased with the results.

First I bought a used 2018 steering wheel from ebay seller LKQonline. The seller listed it as a 2018 model and even added the VIN from the car it was from. I checked the VIN and it was infact a 2018. The wheel cost me $107.50 and even came with the bezels, wiring and buttons! After "buy it now" I had the wheel shipped directly to DCTMS in California.

I contacted them via email prior to buying the wheel and they assured me they could infact make me the wheel I wanted for $597. Ivan from DCTMS explained the process and stated the wheel would be finished and shipped to me within five weeks. To my pleasant surprise it was shipped in about three!

Overall I am extremely pleased with how things turned out. The wheel is excellent quality and looks as good as I'd hoped it would. There were a couple of small issues I feel I should convey:

One. The wheel was shipped to my former residence. I take most of the blame for this as I believe that address is linked to my PayPal account. Ivan did email me to confirm where to send the wheel and I gave him my current address. After not hearing anything i.e. email with tracking from Ivan or the shipper, I wrote to him for the number. I knew he'd shipped the wheel with a restriction for me to sign for the package. I wanted to make sure I was free to sign by watching the tracking. Ivan never wrote back for days. Finally he did write back and that's how I found out about the package going to the wrong house and ultimately being held at the local USPS. So I went and signed and got the wheel from there, not the end of the world but slowed things down by about four days.

Two. Remember how I said that the wheel had all the pieces parts included from the ebay seller? Yeah well, that's not how I got it from DCTMS. I expected the wheel to show up complete and ready to be installed. It was only the wheel with no bezels, buttons, electrical or screws. Now this too is not that big of a deal and likely just an oversight by them. I wrote to Ivan again and he assured me they'd be found and shipped from California. As of now they are en route to Ohio and according to my email from PayPal they are also going to the wrong residence. Hopefully they too end up at the USPS and I will see them soon.

Here are pics of how it was received and ultimately installed on my car using the original parts from my stock wheel.

Packaging was excellent and after watching videos from LMR and CJponyparts all went smooth. I do believe part of the reason for the five weeks is likely because the wheel is shipped to Taiwan to have the leather installed. I’m fine with that as the leather is fantastic and the stitching good.

The wheel looks fantastic. Something I need to consider doing in the near future.
Question, how did you decide on DCTMS? I went to check their website which, quite frankly, is a mess. So I did a quick lookup and found this.

A lot of other customers think Ivan and his wheels are fantastic. Based on yours I would have to agree. Enjoy!

I chose them based on a thread I read here. I imagine it would take forever to find but take my word for it.

I agree on the website, it is a mess, especially considering the types of car$ they work on.

Sorry about the pics being sideways and out of order. I can never get my MacBook to take the pics from the photos folder so I had to use my phone for that post and there you have it. Can't fix it now, I tried.

Looks great thanks for the pics.

Just to clarify, a '15-'17 wheel won't fit an '18-19? I ask because there are so many OEM wheels on eBay that are listed as '15-'19. What's different?

Clock spring and airbag for one. If you have a heated wheel, then you lose that also.

Also, if you're shooting on your iPhone, the native resolution is too high to post, so you're probably resizing them[?] What app / how are you doing that?

The thing is with photos shot on any smartphone: there's an actual "up", it's part of the image meta-data, so that on your device, regardless of the orientation when you take the photo, it's up when you view it (the app showing the photo looks for which side was coded as the up side). When you move images around, resize, etc., that data can get lost, so then it displays in the original camera orientation (i.e., tilted left, right or even upside down).

What's supposed to happen when you upload, resize, etc., is the app handling that should read the orientation data, do a rotation of the image data to match, then resave it, even if the meta-data is lost, the image is now "fixed".

When I chose the pics from the iPhoto app on my phone it asked for size preference and I chose medium. I’m guessing based on your info it rotated them during resizing. Hopefully the next mod will be sooner than later for me to try it out. I have a rear diff cooler sitting in my dining room that could suffice. Thanks for the info.
