I'm a numbers guy and always trying to see the best bang for the buck.
2019 GT - Close to 500 HP - 10K off MSRP = Around 35K - 40K loaded OTD.
2019 GT350 - 525 HP w/Voodoo 5.2 - 3-5K off MSRP. Around 65K OTD.
2020 GT500 - 760 HP SC - 10-20K over MSRP mostly. 90-100K OTD.

The GT can go as low as 30K for almost 500HP. An exercise is value. One could get an HC and GT and for the price of a 500. The 500 is better in many ways of course. Looks alone will get compliments, but worth price ?

The problem with the HC is it does not stand out with looks. Only the badges tell you.

By looking at how you've skewed the prices and what you said about HP I can tell which car you prefer.

My opinion is that the less you spend on cars the better off you are. So if you go with the Mustang GT as you seem to be leaning you will for sure be better off - at least financially. As long as buying the GT doesn't mean that you will be buying a bunch of add-ons wasting your money or selling much more quickly because you got bored with the car so fast.

I don't know much about the HC. Those cars are a little big for me. It's a nice riding car though. Decent chassis for cruising. And reviewers almost universally love them and say they are great fun. So I don't really think you can go wrong with a Hellcat if that's what you like.

Whats the point of this thread? The GT is cheaper? The better performing cars cost more? Im not following.

If you want to spend less money, get whatever you like thatā€™s the cheapest.

If you want the best car, get the 500. Simple.

He is creating a performance per actual sale price value metric to understand if its worth to spend twice or even more money for a high performance mustang. The conclusion is he is not getting twice the performance but the exclusivity of owning a rare breed mustang.

This whole thing is off.

You can get a stripped down 2020 GT for 36k..

The 2020 ZL1 is 62k to start.

The 2020 HellCat starts around 73k. Thatā€™s the same as the 2020 GT500.

the demon costs 84k.

The best value seems to be the ZL1. Price to performance.

but the best vehicle in the lineup seems to be the GT500.

However, if the 500 just slaps the ZL1 into last year, then it may also be the best value for such levels of performance, along with the best car.

I had a ā€˜17 ZL1. It is the best bang for the buck. And they are holding resale numbers better than the GT 350. That being said, I own a GT 350 now. Donā€™t shoot me.

Great....well we might as well throw a Nissan Versa and Mitsubishi Mirage in the mix. Iā€™d bet the owner of those cars say. They donā€™t get buying a GT?

It depends on what you really want.

Do you want a car for a low price that you can modify to your heart's content? Then the GT is the best option.

Do you want a car that handles really well, has unique looks, is pretty fast, and that you won't want to modify? Then get the GT350.

Do you want straight up out the box crazy acceleration and don't mind sacrificing handling? Then the Hellcat is the best option.

Do you want something that does everything well and has mega HP and is the newest coolest of the choices? Then get the GT500.

The problem is that all the choices except for the GT will cost a pretty penny. Your chances of getting a GT500 is slim to none. The GT350 increased in price and is a little outdated. The Hellcat is a good deal and there are price drops on it. So I would leave it to either the GT or the Hellcat if I were you.

Hellcat is a Gran touring car /fast luxury car it handles good just not mustang gt PP good . With a tire only and good DA stock can be a solid performer like my 17 A8 10.80s 128mph ..lower pulley tune 10.30s 135mph,I own a 19 bullitt and 18 GT PP1 A10 . The 18 A10 PP is one of my favorite cars to drive ever and i have owned a minimum of 40 brand new cars and quite a few 600rwhp all the way to 900hp daily driven cars .The new Auto is an absolute Blast and i have owned mostly 5/6 speed cars .I will how ever tell you another favorite car to drive was my A8 Scatpack challenger . It was a beast with radials and K/n filter she was in the 11s @ 116mph . I think that you should pick a car that has solid performance stock with a great platform and excellent aftermarket support.

Mustang vs. wheelbarrow vs. a head of cabbage.

Go!
i like cabbage.. Makes cole slaw which goes on top of a North Carolina pulled pork sandwich. Wheelbarrow tips over and you didn't say which mustang.
