Ive been looking for the set of perfect 5 spoke wheels for the s550. Never was a huge fan of those spoke styles, but that looks really good seeing them on the car. Do you know if the 19s are lighter than stock? Do you happen to know what they weigh?

What wheels are those? They look so damn good. Id guess they are more expensive than id like to spend, haha
I weighed the 19’s and they were approximately 9lbs less per corner compared to stock. Came in about 23 lbs for the wheel and tire. Never weighed the 20’s but the feeling when changing over was negligible. The wheels are fully forged which accounts for the significant weight difference vs the stock cast wheel. BC Forged RT50.

What is unsprung weight when you have close to 800 at the wheels?
Unsprung weight makes ride worse, handling worse, and in the case of rotating weight, acceleration and braking worse too.

For $200 per? No one. Pay to play.
That wasn't the point of the question. Just because I won't buy wheels until they are deeply discounted doesn't mean other folks won't mind dropping $300+ a corner. Most websites show 18" wheels are not compatible whether that is strictly true or not.

Which 18" wheels at 9+ wide fit over the Brembos? My understanding is that fitment is contingent on barrel diameter (and other factors) and if it's too close you get the GT350 problem of small stones getting trapped and scratching the heck out of the barrel.

We know the Apex EC7 is confirmed to work. What are the other half-dozen options?

There isn’t anything wrong at all with 19”, but personally I think they look small on a car the size of the S550. I originally went with stock size 19’s and had buyers remorse almost immediately after installation. It bothered me so much that 20’s were on it only 6 months later.

The outer rim design makes those wheels look smaller than they are. BBS LMs and other similar wheels suffer from the same thing.

Yeah, there's clearly some advantages to 19", but just considering aesthetics, the S550 has a reasonably "thick" side profile, and 20" wheels look very balanced to me.

I like both 19s and 20s. 19s give more of a performance look (with the right tire), while the 20s give (with the right wheel) a slick and more exotic look.

I have a set of 19s for winter; below are my 20s for summer and touring driving:

Thanks, that is an interesting take. I'll have to say that I have not thought of it that way. What you are saying about the LM's and really many multi piece wheels is very true. These wheels being one piece, I've never thought that, but this does show that people do not see the same thing similarly. One thing I was adamant about when choosing rims was that there was a defined rim or lip. The common contemporary style of the spokes extending out to the edge with virtually no transition to the tire does not really work for me. I think another thing working against me is the fact that my car is not lowered but in any case even though there are many compelling reasons to run 19's I am very pleased with how it turned out and only regret not just doing the 20's the first time.
