Anyone else see this? When using app "Waze" in the 350.. Waze GPS registers my 350 20 mph faster than the speedometer. I drive many types of cars during the week/month due to work and never see this issue with any other car/ford..

Anyone experience this? Thoughts on why?

On my car it’s off by at least 15%

A brief Google out of curiosity mentions Waze having problems interfacing with the GPS chip in some Fords when the phone connects to Carplay and thus creating speed anomalies.

Wow, I assumed it used GPS? I have car play disabled so maybe it does use GPS in mine?

Had the same issue. Yesterday, Waze on my Apple Car Play app was ~10mph fast. First time it has ever done that.

[I have an Escort GPS radar unit that displays the GPS speed all the time, and it was spot on, so it was definitely a glitch in the Waze app.]

Off by 10mph on mine. Really annoying when it tells me I’m speeding when I’m not.

Hehe! When I first read the title of this post, I thought, "Excellent! Another way to get more speed out of the car!" This is what happens when you have a lack of sleep...

What's weird....I swapped in Sync 3 w/ CarPlay into my '17 Mustang. That included installing a cheap Amazon GPS for the swap. Everything worked fine - Waze speed was off. Going 73-74mph would show 84+mph on Waze. Swapped the '17 back to stock. Picked up a '19 GT this past weekend. Swapped in my Sync 3 components - the '19 did not need ANYTHING for the swap but the APIM and touch screen (and programming changes). I always thought the Waze speed difference was because of the cheap GPS I installed in the '17. Noticed the same speed discrepancy on my '19 GT after the Sync 3 swap with Waze. But here's the fun part - it only does it sometimes. One time - speed is way off. Next trip - speed is fine.

Isn’t Waze or any other navigation app going to use the GPS in your phone (not the car’s GPS)?

Apparently not using Carplay with Sync 3. Unplug my iPhone from the car, and the speed shown by Waze will correct itself and reflect the correct speed.
