I just went through this. 2015 GT premium with 61k miles on it. I looked real hard at a scat pack challenger but in the end, stayed with mustang and bought 2018 gt premium PP1. I think I would have liked the challenger long term, but I know I like the mustang so I stayed with it.

I replaced my last Mustang with another Mustang.
I did look at one other car and that was the C7 Z07 car. I ended up with another Mustang after thinking about it for a while, as the Mustang community is one of the best around, as is the aftermarket for these cars. Can't be beat!

I'm trying to figure out how to convince the wife I need to trade the Mustang in for something else. before I got married 3 years ago I would get a new car every 18-24 months. I had a heck of a time talking her into being ok with me trading my 2016 scatpack challenger in on a 2018 Mustang. it only had 4000 miles on it and I had to do some fast talking. my Mustang has 3700 on it and each time I attempt to bring up the subject of a new car she gives me the look of death( you know the one). I really want a Green 2020 GT500 and I have a feeling i'm gonna have to buy the wife a Cadillac in order to be able to get myself a new car. she wants a pink one but i'll drive a freaking AMC matador before i'll let a pink caddy in the driveway

IMO, unless you can get a good affordable drive train warranty, the new bowtie is a better choice since you average 25K miles per year
In the long run, the bow tie is the wiser choice between the GT350. It really depends on how the LT1 convertible drives. I’ve driven a rental 2SS coupe auto but never a convertible with a M6 or in the LT trim. Test driving a Camaro LT1 convertible with a M6 will more than likely be the determining factor for me.

Agree, the Gt350 is not a daily.
I’ve driven a GT350 and I would be perfectly fine driving it as a daily. I can see why some would think otherwise.

And to answer the question, a C8 Vette if a Grand Sport version comes out.
If the C8 had a manual transmission, that would be my next car. Unfortunately, I’m a manual transmission lifer when it comes to sports car. I’ve driven many many auto sports car as rentals and I’ve yet to find one where I don’t wish it had a manual transmission.

Did you know those things come with a “Drift mode”? I haven’t seen one drifting an on/off ramp yet in my area, but would be curious (and probably laughing my ass off) if some idiot was doing that on a public roadway...

What vehicles are you considering with your next car purchase?
Seven months ago we had to replace her car/the primary DD on unexpectedly short notice, so I hope we're not going to be back into any new car buying mode for at least a few years. Being retired, more years would be better than fewer.

If I had to replace my '08, a Camaro SS/1LE would be on the list of candidates. I'd like to be able to put the GT/PP2 on the short list as well, but since I do occasionally take 'my' car out on the track I'd have to condition that on Ford having come around to fixing that diff overheating issue or coming in at enough of a cost savings to cover me doing diff cooling on an aftermarket basis. There might be other possibilities - perhaps including a pro-touring build of some sort - but I'm really not even starting to look that far out just yet.

I am thinking hard about replacing the mustang with a 19 f150 standard cab, short box, 2wd, 5.0L. You get the 10spd, solid axle posi rear with 3.31 or 3.55, all aluminum body with a 4,055lb shipping weight, for 28k... I love my mustang, literally a car I daily drive, go to the track, run 10's @ 130+mph on street tires with a stick and averages 20mpg, but I honestly think I can get the F150 faster and I love the idea of going back to a leaf spring suspension....

I try to read everything, but as soon as the dick measuring begins I skip to the last page, just to see where things wound up.
Oh, this place is tame, relatively speaking. I'm on a firearms forum.............lots of type A personalities there, arguing over stupid stuff.
