Raybestos ST45 on the front and stock pads on the rear.

The Raybestos have great bite when heated and they are lasting forever (lost count but so far my guess is 7-8 days and they are about halfway through. Just switched to the solid 2019 rotors with 2 days on them at Watkins Glen and hope they last longer than the cross drilled.
I will try those but now im wondering about which rotors to get.

Ya Cota is a little different than the tracks in MI I run (max speed would be grattan straight around 140mph). Mid Ohio is coming in a couple weeks and will be a little faster still, but not Cota lol.

Waterford hills is a hoot but you barely need brakes.
At Mid-ohio you should be hitting 140-145 after the Kink before you have to start braking for turn 4.

I use Power Stop Track Day Pads I'm happy with them. Have not tried any others yet though. Although some of my instructors have commented on the braking performance of this car LOL

What track pads are you guys running and do you recommend them?

I run Ferodo DSUNOs. I get about 10/15 days on them. I am on my second second but set at 500 a pop I am looking for a cheaper option. Initial bite is cold is good and I have used then on the street with out issue. I do not have much experience with any pad other that the stock one.

https://www.gt350brakes.com/product/ferodo-ds2500-gt350-front-brake-pads
my 18 is 90% track. Tried many. DSUNO are probably the best. Awesome breaking power. And last long.
Raybestos st43 seems good too.
I know the owner of the gt350brakes website (my neighbor) he is one of the most knowledgeable guy I know.
I also bought the AP RACING rotors (coming from girodisc)
Rotors are another key to durability. A cooler rotors will help the pads to last longer.
Hope this help

I think jury is out on that. Personally I would choose the cheaper of the two and if cost is the same I’d go with the solid. Ford made the switch and my guess would be for performance but cost to mfg could be the underlying reason. I’ve read the articles that cross drilled don’t help. WelI I guess I’ll find out for myself in another 4-8 track days.

Hmm the drilled are like $15 cheaper. I like the look of the drilled more.

I think the holes help dissipate heat at the cost of strength.
I wouldn't count on the holes for much cooling help without being concerned that if they were providing measurable cooling they'd be creating a more severe local thermal condition. Which would tend to increase the chances of a crack getting started.

No, the holes don’t do much at all besides look pretty, especially when they get clogged up with brake dust right away. They used to deal with gases, but this is not an issue. They are a area of stress and failure and that’s about it. Look at my prior pic of where the cracks are starting first at.

For a track you want slotted or flat. If you want better cooling, get better ducting for airflow.

Drilled rotors are useless for cooling but tend to crack and eat pads. With todays pads, even slotted are questionable. I have used slotted for my entire track career. Spend the 15 dollars and get the 19 rotors

$15?! My 2019 rotors cost over $100 more. Where is your secret source? :)

Power Stop Track Day pads here and performance wise very happy with them but they go fast. I can do max 4 days with a front set. They are relatively cheap but have less material to start with. Will probably try the Hawks DTC’s 70 in the front and DTC’s 60 in the rear. Fellow forum member Arpa uses them.

Full tilt racing.

Any one try hawk pads?

That's about the same as I paid. I used to get the drilled rotors delivered to my house for $415 from WBL.

Quick data point on the solid 2019 GT350 front rotors. Pictures below are starting to show surface micro-cracks after 2 track days at Watkins Glen using Raybestos ST45 front pads. Car was running pretty consistently in the 2:11’s with NT01 tires and about 75-80 degree ambient temperatures. Rear pads are factory so maybe I’m overtaxing the fronts.

Sharing some updates.
Preparing the car for my next event (including a water spray on coolers :)
Those are my ferodo after 4 track days/time trials. (2 buttonwillow,1 streets of willow, 1 sonoma)
Pads are in great condition.
Ferodo might cost more but i think last way longer. And huge breaking power.
Gt350brakes.com is not only the guy helping improve my car, but his knoledge is huge. And that's why now I get ferodo.
I'm coming from GLOC R16 (and r12) front.

I'm starting to fear that the new discs might actually be worse for longevity - at least with aftermarket pads. Girodisc are next for me I think.
