Hey guys. Thanks for your click.

I recently bought a ST 901 GPS tracker. It works well when tested. Data is reported via GPRS. Update interval is 15 seconds when ACC on, 300 seconds when ACC is off(simulated with 12V DC power).

Here comes the question. Where should I hide the GPS tracker? Some requirements are:
- Must have enough space to fit in a 2in x 4in x 1in tracker
- Must have constant 12V and ground
- Must have ACC(the car turned on signal)

Do you guys have any good idea?

----

One way is to get whatever I need from the fuse box. But I cannot come up with a easy way to connect to it cause they are designed to work with fuse. Or is there a thing called fuse extends?

I can't help you with your questions, but I have one of my own;

Why are you doing that?

Regarding the fuse question, what you want is called a Fuse Tap. See the below link (hope it works), if link doesn’t work just go anywhere online and search “automotive fuse tap” or “bussman fuse tap”.

https://m.autozone.com/electrical-and-lighting/fuse-and-accessories

As for hiding, you can run power/ground from any of these locations:

1) Lift/remove the rear seat cushion, there is a deep enough cavity under the cushion to place it anywhere.

2) Under headliner at rear of vehicle - there’s enough room and the magnetic headliner will keep it secured. Place double sided tape on back of unit and adhere to back side of headliner backing board.

3) In trunk behind L or R trunk liners - plenty of room.

Don’t stuff the thing under the front seats, in or behind glovebox, under or in center console, in doors, behind console center stack (SYNC unit), anywhere under dash or behind front kick panels. Those will be the first places ripped apart when thieves look for things stashed inside a car or when chopping a car.

You don't need to bug the car, you can bug her phone with a tracking ap.

OP's 1000x more likely to cause electrical gremlins in his auto, than to ever need a GPS tracker for theft recovery.

Rather than screw with the electronics of your car, I'd suggest good insurance. Really, if the car is stolen, do you want to find it and take it back after it's been stripped/crashed/chased? Or just let it be gone for good?

A hidden kill switch is a massively better idea. The core concept is not to find it after it's been stolen, it's to not let it be stolen in the first place. Some sort of immobilizer is the way to go.

A broken window that is easily replaced, is far, faaaaaaar better than driving a recovered wreck that was re-built.

Is LoJack still a thing?

That said, good insurance (AAA with only a $500 deductible is the way to go - don't get Allstate, Mercury, Infinity, etc.) is the best way to go.

I like this one. HIdden switch which enables the fuel pump relay when the ignition is switched on. Switch off, no power provided to fuel pump when ignition is on.

Much better off having a good insurance policy. You don't want that car back in your possession if it's stolen.

How is someone going to steal your car without a key fob? A tow truck is the only thing coming to my mind.
