So I had some suspension work done to the my Mustang. I added RTR lowering Springs, Steeda Cradle Alignment Bushings, BMR Cradle Lockout Kit and, Vertical Links, and BMR Differential Bushings. Then had the car aligned.

Since adding said mods I'm getting a lot of driveline clunking. Doesn't happen when the car is under WOT or cruising on the highway, but more so at lower speeds. It's worse if when the trans downshifts if I'm driving and have to slow quickly.

Called the shop that did the install and he basically said that all of the bushings working in tandem eliminate a lot of the slack the stock softer bushings soaked up. Having the car looked at next week. Any input would be appreciated. Really not happy driving it like this.

First thing to do is remove the BMR Differential Bushings.

Level 1 or Level 2 BMR lockout ?

Remove them and replace with stock?

Level 1.

Run the OEM Diff mount setup as Ford designed it. You won’t regret going back.

Personally, I like the BMR Level 1 kit combined with Steeda alignment dowels.

Experiencing the same thing, but man I can't imagine going back to the stock diff bushings. Especially with almost 900whp.

It’s a tall order to make a 900 hp car behave like stock, even temporarily. If you want big power, you have to sacrifice something.

if you do go back to OE diff bushings, make *SURE* you use one of the upgrade bolt kits that do a better (if not perfect) job of shimming out the rear fastener slop.

I wonder if there is any merit to turning down the hard bushing material and adding a couple of D70'ish o-rings

Are you sure it's not the driver's side halfshaft?

My clunk is 100% from the passenger side. Sounds like the halfshaft to me. like some play in it.

The noise is common with the differential bushing lockout, I get the same noise. After adding an aftermarket exhaust and headers, I can barely here it now. You will get used to it.

I have headers, xpipe and active exhaust, but i still feel the clank even if i don’t hear it. Annoying but not as annoying as the viking shock squeak lol.
