175 at the top of 5th gear, limited by drag. Shift into 6th gear and you'll lose a battle to physics. There is no electronic limiter. There is also no road course on the continent that you will ever see that without serious power modification.
This.. at 140 I start to pucker up.

2017 GT350 now gone to a great home.
I would not be comfortable in this thing at 175. I'm too old to enjoy that anymore.

More like impossible. Even a Corvette Z06 has a hard time topping 160 on most road courses. The amount of ground you cover at those speeds per second, and if you're continuing to accelerate, is astronomical.

Now this may be an a-hole moment but here me out, and this isn't just you, OP. What is the appeal of these NT555 G2s? I have had several experiences with them and have been trying to convince myself otherwise, but I personally think they're garbage. I get the appeal of saving on tires especially for street driving but there are much better offerings out there for around the same price. Continental ExtremeContact Sport all day every day, particularly on the R that you have there.
Its not impossible.. but you have to stop once you get there :)

I believe @Tomster has our official forum stock top speed at 175mph on Daytona. Will let him chime in.
Just about 175. The car had a little more, but real estate was the issue. I'll call it..... the car can do 175+. I didn't because I didn't want to go screaming into NASCAR turn 3 at those speeds. Despite the banks, there is still a large sideload that was very uncomfortable.

As for the 6th gear nonsense, I found the car will hold its own at high speeds in 6th gear. Although it is not a pulling gear, you can get to speed and instead of winding the piss out of your motor near red line, 6th gear will maintain.

Tomster, do you know if there is a difference between the bas and the R in top speed?
Some say yes. The R should technically be slower due to wheel tire difference I believe.

Forbes? The foremost automotive experts?
:crackup::crackup: Ford must have provided those numbers. I can find at least three separate articles from the media day at Pontiac where they use 180 as the top speed. But I'll never see 175 or 180 so it's all academic.

You need real estate to get to 180 or high banking and balls

I've had long conversations with the techs and engineers at Michelin pertaining to Daytona and the use of Cup2s with the GT350R. It's a roval course and the enemy is tire delamination. As you go round and round, temperatures build and unless your pressures are correct, a tire failure is possible. The usual point of failure is the right rear. Each tire requires a different pressure and each wheel should have a slightly different alignment setting.

If you don't know what you are doing, you stay away from high speeds especially with banks.

I wrote a white paper pertaining to the perils of such a track and used references from Michelin and advice gathered in my conversations with them. Alignment and pressures are critical.

You don't just hop in a car and go balls out at Daytona. The ones that do usually run into problems. The ones that don't are lucky.
