I'm sure you're happy that today Wall St cut Fords Rating to "JUNK."

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/arti...-moody-s-on-doubt-restructuring-to-boost-cash

"Ford Motor Co. was dealt a major blow by Moody’s Investors Service, which cut the carmaker’s credit rating to junk on doubts that a turnaround plan by Chief Executive Officer Jim Hackett will generate earnings and cash quickly enough."

Wall St analyst said Ford has lost its way. Future doesn't look good.

That would definitely make me think twice before I buy a GT500 for close to a $100k.

Case in point.

Where have you seen this?

Anyway it doesn't look like trolls posting. It's more like in-fighting between you guys here. I think a lot of people are upset with the GT500 and impressed with the C8. Mainly based on price and the performance. The GT500 is way out of reach for a lot of people. The C8 is at bargain prices. And from the looks of things you'll be getting a lot of performance for the C8 price tag. And I think that upsets some folks here.
Just read the quote above this post. I don't know where you see the infighting, though I am sure it exists. But the trolls are easy to spot.

As far as disappointment with the C8 or 500, it is there with both cars - as is admiration.

I think the 18 a10 gts are the fastest mustangs 0-60 ever made so far (especially with a tune since you can hit it in 2nd gear). Soon to be beat by the new gt500 though. 13-14's were 4.1 seconds

I hear the z51 needs 2 shifts to hit 60

not proven yet, no video has convinced me of this yet. and on a prepped dragstrip I think the gt500 will obliterate it. 0-60 0-100 , trap , ET all are going to the GT500 IMO. especially if they put on a drag radial.

Buy the hype all you want though.

0 to 100MPH for both cars is 7.6 seconds, after that, it's all GT500.

1-mile race GT500 will kill it.

I wouldn't say obliterate.

I think the C8 will be around 11.1/11.3, the GT500 10.9/11.0 for qtr mile. Probably come down to whoever gets the best traction off the line.

True on all accounts. One additional fun fact, though...The Z51 does need 2 shifts to hit 2.9. But the base car only needs 1 shift to hit 3.0. Tadge Juechter explained that in an interview I read yesterday but I don't remember his explanation and I can't find the interview. If I do, I'll edit this post.

with these modern transmissions it actually feels like you accelerate harder during shifts (in drag mode) than when just in gear, its pretty crazy, so maybe the extra shift doesnt hurt at all.

I read that also.

Gonna be hard to justify spending $5,000 more for Z51 when all you gain is at Best 1/10th second.

It's also better handling. Significantly better handling, based on the differences in handling between C7 base and Z51. In that same interview, Tadge stated that the Stingray (only version being discussed so far) is not meant to be a drag strip car. So for them, it's not all about 0-60 or quarter mile, but of course it won't stop anybody from celebrating it when it's good.

MacDonald fires off a battery of upshifts, pointing out that the new eight-speed Tremec dual-clutch transmission provides everything the engineers had hoped for in a DCT, namely shift speed and response time. More important, there's no observable reduction in acceleration between shifts, and MacDonald says they are quick enough to be invisible to a 100-hertz data logger.
Coming from the Vette guys.. so take it with a grain of salt. If a 100hz logger can't catch the shift it would mean faster than 10ms.. doubtful but who knows. Isn't Porsche PDK claimed at 80ms or so?

Gonna be hard to justify spending $5,000 more for Z51 when all you gain is at Best 1/10th second.
For most it wouldn't make sense. But if it's going to be tracked it's a no-brainer add-on for the extra cooling, aero, and better gearing.
