my 18 doesn't have it. regardless though, i think rear mudflaps are useless on this car. i don't have any chips whatsoever on the rear....but the fenders are peppered with chips from the front tires.

The rear tires definitely throw stuff up against that back corner, I just don't think rocks and the like get up there that quickly vs. the front tires which throw the rocks at the panels behind the doors. But that area always gets much more dirty than the rest of the sides of my car, and it's noticeable on silver. And it's cosmetic balance :-)

If that piece is firmly attached to something or looks to be structural in some way, maybe the best solution would be to see if you can attach something to the Rokblokz to make it flush? I don't know where you could find something like stock trim material like that textured plastic so it'd look natural? Really need to see if you can take a photo from inside the well to see how that piece is attached or what it's part of.

My Build date for my PP2 was March 19. I don't have that trim piece and didn't have any installation issues with my roadbloxz

My build date is March 22 and I have them.. weird how some cars have them and others don’t.

Could be an added piece to try and correct the bumper fitment issue. I know mine has a bulge on one side and is pulled in on the other. Perhaps these items hold everything a bit tighter so you get better fitment.

I wonder if this is a part we can order from the dealer and retrofit to earlier cars?

After installing my Rockblokz (Rbz), I think you could probably just trim the Rbz guard and install it around that piece. The Rbz guard starts to veer into the well about halfway up that black piece of fascia you have. If that extra piece uses any of the installation holes from the Rbz, you might have an issue.
