Although I think I'll be turning out the lights when the state goes completely bankrupt, I have thought in the past about moving. I'm curious where others have thought about moving. I'll start: I am a Texan in my heart. :) And if I can't have Texas, then probably Arizona.

Alas, if I could find a dry/single-season/warm climate state elsewhere, I'd be gone in a nanosecond.

I love going to Lake Tahoe so Nevada would be one Vegas is not out of the question ( love my Casinos). But really anywhere outside of tornado alley. Idaho is on my short list as well. I am a skier. I am right behind you on leaving. This state treads on me too much.

Honestly anywhere that accepts twin turbos( except tornado alley, F that area).

I'd pick Texas because of the business friendly environment there, it would be a lot easier to find a job.

I lived in Arizona for 8 years before I came back to California for work (I get paid a lot more here). I loved Arizona but there really were not a lot of opportunities there.

Tennessee. 5 to 6 more years here for me and I'll be gone. Got over $500K in equity here. Should be able to get a nice place with some land.

I have a friend that just moved to Tennessee. She is on 6 acres. She loves it. Just sent me a pic of her paying $2.07 a gallon.

No state income taxes, low property taxes, low cost of living and no ridiculous libtard laws that ban anything remotely fun. Sounds perfect to me.

I had a friend who liked TN as well, made the move himself. I can't remember the city, it was on the east side though. My other buddy lived in Murfreesboro for several years and liked it. I got to see the Grand ol Opre before the big flood. Seemd like a cool place. The humidity is what kills the deal for me. It's probably not terrible compared to the eastern seaboard/gulf, but a humid day here isn't even 50%

Yes, give me a state that doesn't over regulate my hobby, tax the snot out of me only to give it away in a way in which I staunchly disagree. LOL I'm not picky.

Too many Texans in Texas.

Go somewhere ten times bigger.

Australia :).
I've never been there, but everything I've seen makes me want to move there. Seems to be a pretty good car culture there also. I believe y'all have similar weather as well? Australia came up a lot 1-2 years ago when we were in a super drought. The articles I read said y'all did things the right way and were actually pretty proactive.

Instead, we build dams here to capture rain that doesn't fall, yet fail to capture/treat water which flows out into the ocean in the few times when it actually does rain.
