We will have a better picture painted once we get more results.
And that picture will tell a story.. on how much better the 2019 ZR1 really was.

Shouldn't this thread be in the off topic section :inspect:
Really it's been in this section for weeks and now you have an issue with it?

Not to mention that wasn't no 3 sec 0-60!

Rumor has it that another Magazine ran 0-60 of 2.8 and 1/4 mile in 11.1 at 123 on a prepped track.

We'll see.

By the time it hits the streets, it should be 1.9 zero to sixty, 9.6 quarter mile @ 137MPH.

The stories keep getting crazier. :cwl:

I'm not sure the ZR1 was in the equation. But it is a given that the ZR1 will outperform the Z51. During the unveil they said the Z51 C8 would have a better 0-60 than anything EXCEPT the 19 ZR1.

I don't think it is a crazy story when you consider how much these cars all range when tested. I think 2 tenths in either direction is reasonable. 2.8 0-60 and 11.1 1/4 mile is possible.

Well, if true, the GT500 guys are going to go crazy.

Hard to believe a 495HP car could beat a 760HP car.

Although it wouldn't surprise me given that they say both cars are tied 0 to 100MPH @ 7.6 seconds.

Just shows why Chevy said they could no longer get better performance with more HP from the ZR1 so they had to change the platform, aka C8.

The quoted time for the ZR1 is 2.85 seconds.

So basically Chevy is saying they got the same 0-60MPH with both cars. One has 495HP the other 755HP.

Anyone thinks that a 1lt Z51 with skinny fronts and drag radials can dig into 10’s? Need opinions.

If the 11.1 to 11.3 turns out to be true, then hell yes there's a chance for 10.9 on a well-prepped surface.

Don’t underestimate the impact of having most of the drivetrain mass directly over the rear axle. Those times are real. The Stingray (the only car shown and released so far) is NOT meant to be a drag strip car and is NOT intended to make anybody forget about the C7 ZR1. That will be the C8 Z06’s job. And if past performance is any sort of an indicator, the C8 Z06 will be right on top of the C7 ZR1 performance. With every modern iteration of Corvette, Stingray approaches the prior gen Z06 in performance and Z06 exceeds the previous gen ZR1 in performance. The ZR1 is just nuts and sets the bar for the next gen Z06

The C6 Z06 was reviewed at 3.6s 0 - 60 and 11.7 quarter. The C7 Stingray was almost as fast at 3.8 and 12.0. The C6 ZR1 was 638 hp, 3.5s 0 - 60, 11.5 quarter.

The C7 Z06 was 650 hp to the C6 ZR1 638, and was tested at 2.95s 0-60 and under 11.0s quarter. Both faster than C6 ZR1. Since Chevy says the reason for going mid-engine is that they have pushed the front engine platform as far as they can, it only makes sense to think that the C8 Stingray is going to approach C7 Z06 performance and that C8 Z06 will match or exceed C7 ZR1 performance. It’s what they’ve been doing. Otherwise, why spend all the money on the new platform?

At the risk of upsetting some of the Ford faith and being accused of being a "C8 fanboy" I will express that I believe it will hit very high 10s in stock form on stock tires once it gets in some good hands. The 18 GT and 16 SS both have done low 12s. Yet in the hands of owners they have hit high 11s. So if we do see an 11.3 or 11.2 in testing then I'd bet the farm that someone is going to get a stock one to do a 10.96. I am eagerly anticipating some really astounding numbers from this car. I would love to see one be the first NA mass produced V8 American car to hit 10s. And for $65,000 with a full warranty nonetheless.

Funny how the trolls post about the C8 based on what chevy supposedly said and want everyone to believe its gospel. but when the GT500 has a video leaked and it beats record-setting cars, there is endless debate.

The feeling-hurter is doing it's job and it isn't even out yet. so awesome.

I'm sure you're happy that today Wall St cut Fords Rating to "JUNK."

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/arti...-moody-s-on-doubt-restructuring-to-boost-cash

"Ford Motor Co. was dealt a major blow by Moody’s Investors Service, which cut the carmaker’s credit rating to junk on doubts that a turnaround plan by Chief Executive Officer Jim Hackett will generate earnings and cash quickly enough."

Wall St analyst said Ford has lost its way. Future doesn't look good.

That would definitely make me think twice before I buy a GT500 for close to a $100k.

Where have you seen this?

Anyway it doesn't look like trolls posting. It's more like in-fighting between you guys here. I think a lot of people are upset with the GT500 and impressed with the C8. Mainly based on price and the performance. The GT500 is way out of reach for a lot of people. The C8 is at bargain prices. And from the looks of things you'll be getting a lot of performance for the C8 price tag. And I think that upsets some folks here.
