In my F150 I used to have a 8" JL audio amplified subwoofer that was great. I was wondering is the 8" sub too small for a trunk install or should I sell it and put something bigger in my 2019 Mustang's trunk? I am not looking for anything too loud just something to smooth out the music when needed. The lack of low end makes the stereo sound hallow.

I've seen some say if you put foam inside the box with the sub its better. Personally I'm not very impressed with it. Not even from a Thump/loudness angle, just from over all quality. It just doesn't amaze me.

I highly recommend the Rockford Fosgate punch 300-10, in conjunction with a LC2i digital line out converter. Sounds amazing, easy to install, and fits nicely in the corner of the trunk.

I have the JL Stealth Custom-fit fiberglass enclosure with
12" TW3-D4 subwoofer and the

JL Audio XD700 amplifier.
Seems to be very good or better, and pretty much disappears in the trunk..
