How long before people start writing say Michelin on a budget tyre? Just like the boy racers with stickers of manufacturers that they don't own any products from

The state of those wheels looks like my wife has been driving that car !
Yes – worrying about stickers on wheels like that is a bit like worrying about the shade of lipstick you going to put on a pig.

Addendum to this - how about gel stickers as a compromise? Subtle (too subtle?) and cheap at about £6

Hmm different but maybe a touch too small? Looks like a sticker you would peel off when you get a new wheel/tyre? Like the red alignment dots on new wheels?

Having said that I might be tempted white infill job but dont think I have the patience anymore.

I agree about the size, so was thinking of getting another set of 4 and putting one each on opposing sides of the wheel circumference. I think they're sturdy enough to be transferable (but if not they are still cheap). I was thinking about painting the tyres too, but having to do 2 to 3 coats on markings on two sides of the wheel for all 4 wheels is a chore - and sod's law you'd get a blow out the next day!
Which makes me think, are those £100+ stickers from USA transferable to new tyres? Even if you don't get a blow out, your tyre does wear down and needs replacing after about 3 years.

I agree but £100+ for a set of tyre stickers? Surely someone can knock up something decent in this country?

Good luck in your search and keep us posted. I do like the idea of white lettering but rubber suitable paint needs to last? Tipex? Can never get that stuff off haha

Interesting, where did you get these from, i can't seem to find them on eBay...?
Cheers, i've ordered a set. Worth a punt for £5.99!

The white stick on letters aren't transferable when you change tyres. They've realistically only got a 12 month life tops before they look like trash anyway.

The best alternative solution i've seen is a set of stick on stencils - i.e. you stick the Michelin stencil on, mask off the rest of the tyre, and then spray paint on in the colour of your choice. These are cheaper than the stick on letters, but not by that much. For what they are you should be able to buy them for pence each, as opposed to about £5 per stencil (and you'd need 8 to do 4 wheels).
