Jacking rails - opinions

I’m looking to get some jacking rails fitted but as I’m in the UK with a convertible I want to make sure I’m importing something recommended. There’s two main types on the market, the steedas which claim to be for jacking only and the BMR ones which also claim to add rigidity to the chassis. What do you all run and has anyone noticed the claims in rigidity?

Have the Steeda on my 19GT. Easy to install. Lift the car in five minutes put stands on 4 corners.

FYI, the J&M look very good, convertible specific, a couple of what appear to be slightly better design touches.

I have the Steeda one and love them It makes it so much easier to swap the summer tire for the winter ones, or just to rotate them. The J&M look good as well. Just make sure you get the convertible specific ones. the ones for the coupe will not fit due to the rear brace.

I have the BMR and love them for lifting the car, but with a coupe I noticed no increased chassis stiffness.

Definitely worth it, I have the Steeda Low Profile ones and they just make getting the car up so much faster.

Another vote for the Steeda. They are low profile and out of the way but make jacking up the car easier and less damaging to the car.

Heavier and more solid than the pictures show. great piece!

Steeda here. I didn't notice any difference in rigidity. But they are nice for tire rotations and such.

.......and if you drive a manual, get a clutch spring thrown it as well. :)

I bought both with intent to keep the best and sell the other.

As to rigidity, the Steeda only attached to the body at the ends. Steeda claimed some advantage from that but it was clear not being against the body the full length happened to be a side effect of a cheaper way to manufacture them. In addition since the mounting points on the Steeda were not boxed, it is not as rigid. Before installing the BMR my passenger door took a few ounces more force to close than the driver. It was more so when the car was on jack stands. With the BMRs installed, the passenger side matched the drivers both when jacked and not. The BMRs also looked better but nobody but you likley to even know they are there.

Steeda later came out with a sort of clone of the BMR and it might be as good.

Any of them let you jack up the car.
