Congrats on the new block. As others have said, it is a beast.

To me....it just seems to be a little difference in it. Not because it's a R or anything, it seems the calibration is different on it. At any rate, enjoy !

That’s awesome. Enjoy it the way it should have been for you all along.

I think the numbers will be 555 for the R, and 557 for the non R. A quick google search of that particular part number, KR3Z6006B, shows a R engine assembly.
Does the “R” designation mean replacement? I think I read somewhere that it didn’t mean GT350R engine but replacement.

Am I mistaken?

All replacement motors are the R version. So that’s updated block and other items. My 2019 motor feels a bit stronger than the 2018 motor and it’s much smoother. At high rpms I’ll dare say it’s close to feeling like my smooth 911 flat 6. Not exact of course, but it’s smoother and less vibration than the 2018 motor.

AFAIK, all MY 2019's (both base and R) got the GT350R motor. That motor also shares its' block with the 2020 GT500. So a GT350 motor replaced under warranty gets the updated/newer version.

This is the engine tag inside my base 2019 GT350:

I'll bet DCShelby's looks the same.

Too late. Already did that once, but maybe I should do it again to get a 2019 block

How interesting! I wonder if your '18 motor was defective from the start, or if the '19 motor is just better?

My original motor was an oil eater, lasted 4.5 k miles then it was replaced.
