RockAuto!

Or your local dealer. My dealer had some...at just about 3X the price of RockAuto.

Yep X3 on RockAuto! My $.02 cents is that they are easier to deal with than the dealer's parts department. On that note - have you guys noticed that the parts departments are staffed (lately it seems) by a bunch of grumpy SOB's that make you feel like they are going WAY out of their way to help you?

I'm fortunate enough to live near Autonation White Bear Lake in MN. Those guys are awesome and great prices too.

Is this something new? I don't think I have ever used this filter on my 17. I think the one I used was 2062.

2087 replaces 2062... i think they will stop making 2062 at some point...
The way the parts system at Ford is portraying things, the 2062 is (and will continue to be) the correct filter for the smaller engines, both NA and EcoBoost, that take thinner 5w20 and 5w30 oils. It's (apparently) not going anywhere.

As of 2019, Ford introduced a new filter for the 5.2 V8 engines using 5w50, and that's the 2087. In the parts system, it's back-spec'd to all cartridge filter 5.2's starting in 2017. Why did they do this? I have no idea, but a change like this costs Ford both engineering and supply chain management money, so they did it for a reason. I have a spin-on filter engine, so it doesn't affect me, but if i was using cartridges, I'd use the 2087 and just put up with the higher price.

Very informative reply, thank you! I suppose the new 2087 will start to show up at more retailers as it fully enters the supply chain.
