Fiberglass tonneau speedster style cover - group buy?

I have been looking to find a fiberglass speedster style tonneau cover. I tracked down a contact at the company who partnered with Ford and Nieman Marcus for the special edition mustang shown in the pic below.

I spoke to the folks there and they are working on putting together a launch for this product that is coming soon. He is willing to do a group buy discount pre-launch of we get enough interest. The kit is targeted to have a double bubble roll bar and a one piece cover, but they may be potentially purchased separately.

I don't have a price yet - Cervini makes a similar kit (but not for our year) that runs around $1,200. From my conversation, I suspect the work with Ford and sales with Nieman Marcus has resulted in a fairly high quality product that will command a premium price over the Cervini kit - plus it will be the only kit on the market.

Give me a shout if you would be interested in such a group buy. I should know more about pricing next week.

Original poster here. It never went anywhere. The company that got the tooling from Neiman Marcus (smc productions llc) never ended up making them. I had spoken to the guy I spoke to there, Anthony, who said they were close to production, but it never happened.

Unfortunately, No! I had to remove my CDC sports bar to fit this.., but truly worth the effort!

Can you describe the Top Up/Top Down procedure involved? What needs to be done to do those operations?

It looks awesome and I'm interested but I have a few questions.

I assume I would have to have it painted locally? Or does it come in Race Red?

Can it be stored in the trunk or in the back seat area to allow the top to be raised if you get caught in the rain?

It comes unpainted in gloss black that I personally believe can go on without the need to paint on a black or grey mustangs.

I have been caught in the rain a couple of times and it took me less than 2 minutes to remove the 2 side panels, they easily fit in the trunk and close the top; however, the middle larger piece won't fit! I did took me longer to find a safe spot to pull the car over ;-)
