Got tired of the Alcantara feel and looks. Took a look at a few aftermarket solutions. Went another direction - bought a new factory wheel and bagged it. Removed the current factory wheel which was starting to look bad and sent it to custom shop. Wheel was redone in Nappa leather. Looks great - feels great.

Looks good. Who performed the leather installation, and how much did it cost?

Had it done in Hayward CA by a shop who does a lot of car interiors for SEMA show cars. Total cost was around $900. The extra wheel was $390 - I bought it on ebay from a Ford dealer in Las Vegas. He had the original wheel for 2 weeks and squeezed it in between projects so I used the new wheel while I was waiting. A shop that does custom interiors should be able to do this for you.

Yup - same here that's why I had it done. I put the 2nd wheel away in case someone wants the original wheel someday. The road trips are a lot more comfortable - the Alcantara really sucks after a couple of hours.
