I had a tuned 2014 Focus ST3, 2011 Mustang GT premium and a 2016 Fusion SE leading up to my S550 GT. As you can see I tried to "grow up" and get out of car stuff, and that didnt seem to happen, lol.

I do love the S550, its a great street/roadtrip car.

Trading in my 2015 VW Golf R for my loaded GT? Yeah, it was WAY worth it! I loved the R but it was a typical basket case of "German engineering" issues. Yeah I kinda miss AWD and something weighing UNDER 3300 lbs but my Mustang(with current mods) is better looking, faster, aftermarket isnt stupidly overpriced and handles damn well for it's size!

I like our ā€˜vert but donā€™t ask my wife..... we traded her 2014 RAM Laramie for the Mustang. It looks like next spring we will trade the Mustang in on another RAM. Happy Wife, Happy Life!
THREAD JACK IN PROGRESS...!

I used to be "that guy" as well, then I realized it was nothing short of 'effing slavery. It's not your job to make her happy, nor her job to make you happy.

I'm finally single again, happy again; and SANE again. Plus I don't have to justify the mods to my Mustang to anyone.

Just sayin'.... :sunglasses:

Loved all my cars, one way or another. The one that lost out to the present, '18 GT auto, was a '14 GT convertible auto: love-able but didn't have the visual or performance appeal of the S550. Only one of the Mustangs I regret letting go is th '13 GT Brembo 6-speed. Still, not quite a match for the '18.

Absolutely yes. Took me 3 years to let go of the S197 (retro) styling and embrace the S550. The 18 pp1 was my match. ;).
I'm still slowly getting over the 2010 GT Premium that I traded in to move to the S550.

Had a 15ā€™ GT. Did a few things to improve it but the MT-82 trans was the biggest POS. I was thinking about swapping it for a Maxim XL but before I got serious about it I traded it for a 09ā€™ C6.

I always wanted a C7 but didnā€™t want to spend what they were going for. The A8 trans scared me away. So I got the C6.

After a year with the C6 i found myself not really wanting to drive it anymore. Guess I lost interest in it. I missed having a Mustang so I traded the C6 for my 18ā€™ GT. And havenā€™t looked back.

I traded my 2016 Focus RS for my 2018 Mustang GT PP2 and I'm very happy. I'm a track rat/ amateur racer so I have plans /purpose for each of my cars.
The Mustang GT purchase was to learn about how to drive a high horsepower car properly (as horsepower can cover a lot of driving sins). Plans for next cars include M2 Competition, Cayman 718 GT4

Well, my wife is THE most important person in my life, definitely more important than ANY material thing. We have been married over 46 years and dated 2 years before that. I canā€™t imagine my life without her. Lord knows she has put up with enough crap from me. :)

How did you like the RS?

I liked the RS a lot. I mod'ed it to improve its track performance (suspension, camber plates, lowered, wider wheels and tires, tune, CCM brakes, brake cooling, remove things to lighten). Negatives were "B" pillar rattles, lots of warranty, but overall its a fun fun car. With all these mods the daily driver joy was lessened a bit. Because of its size the RS feels faster than the Mustang GT (but its not).
Both are easy to drive fast on the track. The Mustang will get you into more trouble if you over do it. The all wheel drive of the RS provided a lot of confidence. It was a blast to track in the rain.
All around track, daily and trips I enjoy the Mustang more. Love the V8 sound and feel. Goal of the Mustang is to leave it stock and see how far it can go on track.

I traded my '08 Bullitt in for a '19 Bullitt--and lots of cash--and, yeah, it was worth it (except for the goddammed digital display which takes a dump on hot days).

I was very happy with my 13 F150, until I seen a rust bubble forming on the rear wheel well. I paid $24K new, got $17,500 after 5.5 years. Great trade made it an easy decision.

Do you run into over heating issues in your PP2 on the track, mainly with the rear diff. or the trans.?

I did get the rear axle warning after 20 to 30 mins of lapping but never gets to the shut down.
I think the warning comes up at about 260 degrees (some have post 295 degrees) mine seems to max at 275. I'm not sure were the reduce power shut down occurs 300?
For my next track event I've now changed out the oil to use higher viscosity: 140.
and then I will try the exhaust wrap next. Engine and trans no issues but I do change the engine, trans and rear diff oil after each track event
.

I usually get 25-30 minutes in my 17 before the warning comes up . Wrapped exhaust and 140 . I usually can go the first 30 minute session without the warning. I have seen someone suggest using a fan to cool the diff between sessions helps. I am going to try that next , but I see a diff cooler in my future ( either for this car or a C7 Vette which comes with one in the Z51 package )
