The GT500 weighing almost 1000 pounds more than the C8. That's a demon territory. How much will this negate it's power advantage? Also almost 500 more than a GT350.

At 4200+ lbs i wish the car had at least awd! It would have been epic. American GTR.The GT500 weighing almost 1000 pounds more than the C8. That's a demon territory. How much will this negate it's power advantage? Also almost 500 more than a GT350.
Rounding 600lbs up to 1,000lbs?The GT500 weighing almost 1000 pounds more than the C8. That's a demon territory. How much will this negate it's power advantage? Also almost 500 more than a GT350.
The site that I saw said curb weight was 3366lbs so more like 900lbs. That is dry weight even so 600lbs is significant a lot to overcome.Rounding 600lbs up to 1,000lbs?
Curb weight of the C8 is 3,600.
3,366lbs is dry. 900lbs is 50% more than the actual 600lb difference. Still a lot but it's pretty inaccurate to say "almost 1,000lbs heavier" when taking about 600lbs.The site that I saw said curb weight was 3366lbs so more like 900lbs. Did you read what you quoted. I said that was dry weight and even so 600lbs is huge for a 1/4 mile time.3,366lbs is dry. 900lbs is 50% more than the actual 600lb difference. Still a lot but it's pretty inaccurate to say "almost 1,000lbs heavier" when taking about 600lbs.
Yes I did:Did you read what you quoted. I said that was dry weight and even so 600lbs is huge for a 1/4 mile time.
You're trying to justify your "1,000lb" comment. The site that I saw said curb weight was 3366lbs so more like 900lbs.
This is poorly written, but if you're now admitting that 3,366lbs is dry and it's a 600lb difference, why justify the 900lb claim in the first place (when you shouldn't compare a C8 dry weight to a GT500 curb weight)? That is dry weight even so 600lbs is significant a lot to overcome.
Interesting trivia. I didn't realize that. Thanks.Long long ago...in a galaxy far far away....my bad...wrong forum.
A long time ago, Chevrolet used to use gold bow ties for “mainstream models”, blue for “premium” models, and red for “performance” models. So a Monte Carlo would have a gold bow tie, a Monte Carlo LT would have a blue bow tie, and a Monte Carlo SS would have a red bow tie. They stopped doing that either just before or just after Bob Lutz came back to GM. I remember being in a meeting where he offered his opinion on that.

Even cooler if I hadn't reversed the colors. Blue = mainstream, Gold = premium, Red = performanceInteresting trivia. I didn't realize that. Thanks.
The c8 is such a bargain to start with that extra $1500 ain't going to mean a thing. Chevy will sell as many as these cars as they can make. Even 3LT loaded up is under 80k.Buy your sub $60k c8 now the price is going up in 2021
