I hear the jlt cold air pipe
is restrictive so I bought a K&N filter to go over the inlet. Has anybody used one? Any gains in boost or hp/tq?

Feel a difference? More boost more hp/tq? Dyno with jlt and after with just the filter? Thanks

18 intake manifold, 1 7/8 headers, no cats. V7 JT blower.
Nice setup. I'm considering doing your exact one on 93 octane. My goal is around 650 whp for the street, but I may stick with one of the self lubricated ones. The V7 unit is nice though not having to change the oil out. I just don't know if I'd utilize it's capability going to higher HP with a fuel system and smaller pulleys. If I'm not mistaken, the V7 oil fed unit is the same as the Paxton 2200SL?Only way I have ran it.

I wouldn't go through the trouble unless you are just running the stock airbox. I think what you gain in lower IAT is offset by loss of flow from closing box. It is also really tight on the drivers side with the inlet and outlet both over there. If I had to do it over again I would just throw a filter on the blower for street duty and run it open at the track. I think most people will blow the engine up far earlier than it will get worn from ingesting dirt at the track.I've seen one car with the Steeda closed box option with a Vortech blower, but not much more than that. Wonder how viable that one is with these setups being closed box?
