I don't see how that would be possible at all... So if a motor blows years down the road people will have to buy another truck and not another motor...
See Below

I think hes saying it wont be a Ford Performance catalog order. Ive never ordered just a straight engine from a dealer before. Wouldnt it be weird if Ford's best engine that it ever built...isnt even available next to their other performance engines...weird times gentlemen
That is how I took it. That there won't be a Ford Performance part # for this engine and the only way to get one would be to order one through a dealer and that would be big $$$

The more I look at this engine the more I love it! Hell the thing even has spark plug wires! It actually looks like an engine!

This swap actually makes sense as I probably bought the cheapest Mustang out there. No mods except the jacking rails - heck I even still have the frumpy 17” wheels. So the swap from V6 to 7.3 makes sense as that is how the Shelby’s did it.

So who is of like mind? The iron block is a non-issue to me as the V6 is my first aluminum block so iron is the way God intended it in my mind. Straight line and only straight line.

But the decision is not in a vacuum. I met a guy near me who has made a GT500 supercharger kit for the 3.7 V6 they will soon sell. They have my number and I think he needs a S550 test mule so even more options (yes that is my voice in the video , and yes I’m not exactly Barry White):

He also makes a stroker block but it would be the supercharger for me:

But I am tending to the new V8. And how difficult would it be to swap it to the old six speed auto instead of the A10?

So how do you guys feel about this? The guys at my work figured I had this planned from the get go but I am open to all options!

What do you guys think and are you going to look into the 7.3 swap?
There is almost more interest in this one thread than the entire active threads of the GT500 board.

Just because theres more interest doesnt mean its the best choice. Top story on ESPN the past week have been frostbitten feet.
I was just on the GT500 side and i remember 10yrs ago when people were pumped in went aluminum block and 550hp. Now people are but hurt it has less than 800hp and isnt made of carbon fiber. Whiners

Looked like it had pretty significant engine setback in it, will be interesting to see what it does.

Norm, would you ever engine swap your 2008?
As of right now, no. While I could certainly handle a Coyote/7.3/LS-LT-whatever level of power, I don't need that much to enjoy driving. Not even at HPDE days where I'd actually get to use it all. I just hope I don't ever find myself in a situation where I'd either have to do an engine swap or get rid of the car and start over with something else.

Having to deal with NJ's periodic OBDII emissions testing and not wanting EPAS (Ford's in particular) in a track car are significant related obstacles.

What part of this is relevant to the S550?

I'd kind of like to put this 7.3 in place of my 5.4 3v in the 2008 F250, but Mustang6G isn't really the place to discuss that.

Well, there is at least one aftermarket company that builds Mustangs that just might offer the 7.3 in a S550.
From that, they've teamed up with another group to develop a K Member and related parts.

Ford might keep the Coyote around but there are others that won't.

Can't really talk much about it's "True HP" other than remember that this is a
very conservative 87 octane tune.

Oh, joy. This again.

Anything about this that isn't from you?

Is there a way to stop this worthless thread from appearing in the General Forums section?

Strong chance that "Visner Racing Engines Induction Specialist" helped develop the heads
for this engine.
Things are starting to look very promising.
