Not a good way to compare. That 460 horsepower comes in way way sooner than the GT350 does. Also there is different gearing throughout both car's torque curves. The C7 has a 1:1 in 4th gear with 3 overdrives. The 350 has 1 overdrive. The rear end ratios are different. The trans ratios are obviously different. The torque curves and delivery are way different and their respective drivelines clearly reflects that to take the best advantage of each powerband. If it's a base one, the C7 is down 70horsepower so it would make sense for the GT350 to pull on the upper end (especially with making power the whole way to the top).
I suppose my C7 stacks up favorably against a Non R.I used to have a Z51 C7. The car is faster than my gt350 at the track. But not as fun.
That makes sense because I was in the upper rpm in the 4th gear and shifting at 8100 rpm. Didn't C7 have like 6500 red line?If it's a base one, the C7 is down 70horsepower so it would make sense for the GT350 to pull on the upper end (especially with making power the whole way to the top).
Last day at COTA I instructed a student in one of these. I was really impressed with the grip. He was on Super Sports and the car was super hooked up. A GT350 can be fast on Super Sports, but it takes a lot more effort than in the Grand Sport from what I could feel. I was highly impressed. Would be a fun car to drop some mods into and go at it. You could make one just stupid fast.A friend and I are about equal skilled drivers depending on the day, I have a 2016 GT350R and he a 2017 C7 GS and at our last track day he ran about 1-2 seconds faster than I did. I drove his car and just found it to be easier to drive fast was my thought. We posted about the same times in each others cars.
