Problem this car will not weigh 3150lbs lol, it will weigh 3500-3600lbs wet.. It will not run any better than a c7 z06 every knows this. It will outrun the 350 naturally, but a s/c car within 400lbs of it, this will not happen. (GT500CF)
I was not claiming the Z51 C8 will be as fast or pull as hard as the GT500 in the 1/4 mile. The GT500 has wayyyy more hp, so it will be faster in the 1/4 than the C8.

And I agree, the Z51 C8 will be hard pressed to accelerate as hard as a C7 Z06, esp. once traction is no longer an issue. It may match it 0-60 but after the traction advantage is lost, the massive power advantage of the Z06 will take over. While they may be close in e.t. on street tires, the Z06 will begin pulling away above 60 mph.

Rumor has it if you put the C8 in launch control mode it can reach the moon in half a second. Did I mention it outperforms all NASA spacecraft for a fraction of the price.
You forgot to mention thats the base model, the z51 will be able to achieve interstellar travel, and the z06/8 will be able to time travel, and the zr1 will break the space time continuum, all for less than the price of a gt500, once you factor in the ADMs of course

Better do more research the c7z traps higher and can run 10s. Only 1 c6z has achieved a 10 sec run, aka hero run.
I'm still compiling my research. This is but one example based on verified published data. The C6 Z06 trapped 127.1 mph (C&D), while the C7 Z06 trapped 127 mph (C&D) and 126 mph (Motor Trend). Yes the C7 Z06 e.t. is a bit better due to better traction. Weight to power ratio: C6 Z06: 6.23 lbs/hp; C7 Z06: 5.47 lbs/hp. And both of those C7 Z06 times were with the 8 speed automatic, vs. the 6 speed manual for the C6 Z06. Another data point: from 60-100 mph, where traction is no longer an issue, the C6 Z06 accelerates at a rate of 10.3 mph per second, while the C7 Z06 accelerates at a rate of 10.5 mph per second (C7 Z06 was 0.1 seconds faster from 60-100 mph). Significantly better lbs:hp ratio in the C7 Z06 for a very marginal acceleration improvement above 60 mph.

I have a number of other examples of NA cars with worse lbs:hp ratios out accelerating FI cars with similar or marginally better lbs:hp ratios. My research is generally focused on higher speeds (but not too high) where traction is removed from the equation.

C6 z06 has a 7100 redline yes? Whats the C8s, 6500? RPMs win races, less weight, more power, higher redline. This is why c6 was impressive for its #s

Area under (HP) curve , referring to the C8 having more hp in the midrange due to its Tq advantage over the .2 GT3 .
Which means nothing for 0-60 / 0-100 / quarter mile. In road course if your trans is geared properly you should only see very upper mid to high revs. In a drag race should be within 1000-1200 rpm of redline. Now if your racing from a 3500 rpm roll that's a different story.

It absolutely matters when you make 140 pound feet more in those mid upper rpm ranges too ! Lol The avg hp is higher through the entire hp curve not just at 1000 rpm ! Prime example is the F80 M3 being much faster than the E92 M3 despite having near identical peak outputs . Also why the new 4.0 GT3 motor performs much better from a roll than the 3.8.

Ha, run out of steam? Try telling that to the 2006 Corvette Z06 that traps 127.1 mph (per C&D test) in the 1/4 mile with "only" 505 hp (and weighs only 3,150 lbs), equaling the C7 Z06 with 145 less hp and a worse weight:hp ratio, and a 6 speed manual transmission. Most of what I have observed from my own research is quite the opposite of what you state; in that a naturally aspirated engine with the same amount of hp as a forced induction engine will trap higher speeds and accelerate harder given similar weight:hp ratios. In many cases, an NA engine with a worse lbs:hp ratio will accelerate as well as a FI car with a better lbs:hp ratio.
That was a nonsense number. The C7 zo6 traps those numbers @650/650. Dont spend so much time on camaro6. Itll rot your brain.

Who's quicker? 100 hp and 1000 lb-ft or 1000 hp and 100 lb-ft? Torque isn't the be all end all of performance.

When two cars have essentially the same hp as per my example 500 and 495 and one has 140 lb feet more Tq , which one is faster ? Yeah , don’t be obtuse using nonsensical numbers . The C8 will make more hp than the GT3 throughout its mid AND upper rev range period . So yeah the tq matters too because it determines the hp curve !

Not sure how it's nonsense since the numbers came from Car and Driver. My post or numbers here have nothing to do with Camaro6 either. Although I did post similar posts over there in the GT500 vs. CA ZL1 (now C8) thread while discussing Corvettes...

When the C8 redlines at 6,500 rpm, the GT3 has only barely begun getting started. While the torque may be lower, the higher revving engine allows for lower gears, which multiplies the torque at the wheels, which is what accelerates the car. I made the same comparison over at Camaro6 w/ the GT3 vs C8 Z51, estimating the 911 GT3 will be slightly quicker with a higher trap speed in the 1/4 (11.1 @ 127 mph, currently, per Car and Driver) than the Z51 C8 because it is lighter than the C8, and it is a Porsche, which always seems to maximize the acceleration of a car for a given hp rating.
