I wonder what the ludicrous markup is funding? Maybe CS is a super villain and he’s building a death star?

Given his location to central London, I suspect many of his customers just blow their annual bonus on his stock. No doubt he'll sell it without a problem.

But a £150k Mustang is just bonkers :(

So a realistic base price is $80k, add shipping at say $5k gives $85k, 10% duty gives $93.5k, VAT takes it to $112.2k. Using CS's stated exchange rate of 1.22 gives £92k. Let's assume it's a mare (pun intended) to get through IVA so take it to £100k. Hmm....

I know people are talking about dealer mark ups, but just as many as saying why would you buy a GT500 when you can get a C8 for less money. So a £55k CS markup seems a tad cheeky.

Fools and their money...etc.

It's a superb car, if you like that kind of thing, but over four times the car the GT is? Not for me.

A car is worth what someone would pay for it. I can see why someone would choose the GT500 over say an Aston Martin or Ferrari

Aston Martins and Ferraris seem more common than Mustangs, especially the Shelbys. Astons don't even use their own engine but now use one from Mercedes. If you want something unique in the UK that is fast and sounds great and have the spare cash then why not.
A choice between a Ferrari, Aston Martin, GT500 or GT350R. My choice would be GT350R, GT500, Ferrari and then Aston, even if they all cost the same.

Yeah they're taking the mick on the mark up but their target market is not your average joe.

But as you say £150k is probably a drop in the ocean for some people ,so just to have a car that’s unusual over here.

Paying £3.50 for a coffee seems ridiculous to me , maybe The garage has the same markup strategy as the big coffee houses

I read your comment sipping on my £3.50 cup of coffee :cwl:

Does that mean I'm destined for a GT500?

In all seriousness if I had that kind of money, it would be a hard toss up between a GT500 and an Aston, something so sexy about them, i wouldn't care how common they are. You'd obviously be getting more for your money too, rather than a ridiculous markup. The Mustang is all about good value for money, take that away and it becomes a little pointless for me. That said, if it was sensibly priced, all day long it would be the 350, then the 500, then Aston and the Ferrari.

It would be top of my list if I had that sort of money to spend on a car. Not like your gonna see lots of them like Lambos and Ferrari’s.
