According to GM the Z51 equipped C8 is faster than the current C7 ZO6 in every performance metric.
Haha bullshit.

Wanna put some $$ on that?

@ALUSA I would never quote performance numbers from GM. These are the same people who think their A8 can shift faster than a DCT. When it in fact doesnt.
Guess what transmission the C8 uses now?

GM's A8 transmission is garbage. From C7 stingray - ZR1. Even when watching the ZR1 review (thesmokingtire) the transmission has a mind of its own. Not to mention over heating.

C8 is probably not going to get past 11.4 IMO, stock. It just doesn't have the power.
When it gets TT power, then we'll see some stupid fast 1/4 times.... before then, expect it to get its ass handed to it past 60mph.

Can anyone tell me another 3600+driver car, with 495chp / 420rwhp ET/traps in the 1/4?

Its rhetorical. people are placing waaaaaaaaaaaay too much emphasis and exaggerated performance on the ME layout
Agree , it will do about what the 991.2 GT3 does despite being 300 pounds heavier because of better AUC. should be around 11.4@124

Based on an other mid engine comparable weight and power, it’ll do 11.4@121

A 2010 R8 which should be around the same weight, 25 more hp but far less torque, 79 less does Mid 3s and magazines have done 11.6-11.8.

That car did not have a dct, less torque, same or more weight, narrower less grippy tires.

A 2014 R8 with the DCT is another story and quicker yet.

The caveat is 15% of the power goes to the front of the R8. Is that enough to skew the results?

Let's just do basic math here for the C8.

C7 Z51 460hp
0-60: 3.7s
1/4 mile: 12.0s

C7 Z06 650hp
0-60: 2.95s
1/4 mile: 10.95s

C8 Z51 495hp
0-60: 2.9s
If you take that numbers and assume that the C8 will perform absolutely identical to C7 after 60mph it will be a 11.2s, since it is 0.8s faster to 60. But it's pretty clear that the C8 will of course accelerate faster than the C7 after 60mph too. So a 10.9-11.1 seems pretty plausible for the C8 Z51, which really means that the C8 could perform on par with the Z06. Add higher corner speeds thanks to the midengine layout and it's pretty clear that the C8 Z51 could beat a Z06 on track.

Of course the GT500 will be a beast too. I don't get why for some people there can only be one great car at the time, everything else must suck. The only thing that sucks are the shady business practices of some Ford dealers for the G500
