Why did Ford choose the GT350IM for the Bullitt?

True. For fuel economy Ford messed with the MT82 gear ratios which affects acceleration.

In the UK, we are stuck with the 3.55 rear end on all GTs and Bullitt Mustangs, so my first modification will be to swap out the rear end ratios for a 4.09 or 4.30 final drive to bring the car to life.

Do the 430.

Possibly. The difference between the 4.09 and 4.30 at 7400 RPM in 2nd gear is 71mph vs 67 mph, and in 3rd it's 105 mph vs 99 mph.

Cruising at 70mph with the 4.30 equates to 2250 RPM and 2600 RPM at 80 mph. I assume that is not terrible for fuel economy.

I put a 4.10 in my 5 speed '09 Bullitt and the difference wasn't much. Supercharged and the gas mileage was basically the same. Also, the '18 up has 2 overdrive gears. Made for the 430?

6th is the same final as the 03-04 GT/Mach1's 5th. It's almost like Ford took a 3650, put a gear between 4th and 5th, swapped 1st and added 0.1 to 2/3/4. So between a 4.09 or 4.30 would be a sweet spot. It also would make a 4.56 more viable as a daily gear if you don't do much highway.

In Germany the Bullitt has only 460 hp, only 10 more than the EU GT. Mostly because of OPF required to meet polution laws. Compared on dyno and street driving, even fast driving on the Autobahn, there is no difference to feel between Bullitt and GT. Even worse the Bullitt comes with 3,55 transmission semiliar to the GT. Much to long.
But anyway I love my Bullitt and don’t regret choosing it over the GT. The look under the hood shows more of the wonderful coyote engine.

It does seem to help when the car peaks.

I know these are different cars, and ones an auto.

Evolution 2018 GT w/ Lund tune, Kooks 1-7/8 Green catt headers, rouch Xpipe, e85 and JLT intake
Peak HP: 7000RPM
Peak TQ: 4500RPM

@BULLITT_BJAMES BULLITT w/ TUning By James tune, Texas Speed catted headers(unsure which ones), heartthrob midpipe and 93oct
Peak HP: 7300RPM
Peak TQ: 5000RPM

Not a direct comparison, but the power range is moved up a few hundred RPM.
