Has anyone tried the latest Whipple update from June for the 2018 A10? How did it work vs. previous configuration?

I'm running it, but I have a manual. It is much improved from their earlier tune, but I can't vouch for the auto part.

how does whipple notify their customers of tune updates? I have a 2015 car and I think my tune is from last year... is there anything newer?

You can send them an email, although I don't believe that they've had an updated tune for the 15-17 cars for a while.

I have the June tune, I went back to the previous one from May, I thought my power was down, and the hesitation was still there at the lower rpms. Did run both tunes on the dyno and they had the same tq. and max hp, but the May one seems to have more in the lower gears.

What did you make on the dyno?

The latest tune is by far the best yet. Very "street-able", which is what Whipple's goal is.

Engine performance is very OEM like....smooth.

The transmission shift schedules especially in "S" mode need some additional work. Mostly when down-shifting into 3rd or 4th. It can bang unusually hard in either "D" or "S" modes, about 2-3 times out of 10. Annoying but still a great improvement over previous versions. "S" mode up-shifts also can use some additional tuning. Seems to hang in a particular gear too long at times. "D" mode is very much like OEM accept for the occasional down-shift issues.

FWIW,

Rob

There is an intermittent idle surge that whipple is aware of and working to fix.

Happens every once in a while if you start the car and throw it in reverse immediately. Idle hunts and car feels like it wants to stall.

If you guys have any issues with the tune make sure your contact whipple support through their ticket system.

Now that you mention it I have seen this issue as well. I believe it tends to be more prevalent when cold. I don't recall seeing this with a warm engine.

Bear in mind, there’s several 18-19s out there, completely stock, that stall at idle for “no reason” (meaning: cause not yet found but appears to be at least partially related to the inlet cams losing the plot).

We are talking about two different issues.

(My car has no stalling or idle issues after the car is running for 45 seconds or more)
