Having spent time in both I like the GT better, with the GT350 wheels/tires/sway bars. I didn't like the GT350's clutch. It was too light and the window for engagement was very small. I also prefer lots of torque in the 2K-5K range driving in my local area, and the GT equals or betters the GT350 in that regard. Could have bought either one, happy with the GT-and-a-half.

Having owned a 17 GT350 and a 18 GT 5.0 base car with the A10, I have to say they each appealed to me in different ways.

For a pure driver's car, enjoy rowing the gears and the glorious sound of the Voodoo, the GT350 was amazing. Stop on a dime and handle like a dream.

My base GT was running e85 and had about $5,000-$6,000 in suspension, brake, wheels, and tire upgrades. It was really only a base in name only. Brembro brakes, 285s up front 305 in the rear. Steeda progressive shocks and struts. Upgraded sway bars etc. It handled awesome but a notch or two below the GT350 mag ride. The GT was faster and I mean a lot faster. Roll racing, dead stop, 30 to 100, it would walk a GT350. It was about 1 second faster in the 1/4 mile. Best in the GT350 was about 12.2ish. 11.2ish in the GT. The stop the hop kit on the GT was huge. I could never get a really good launch in the GT350 due to wheel hop. GT with the upgrade hooked!!!

So for speed and quickness, the GT was the better performer. Handling and thrill of manual with the Voodoo, GT350 was awesome.

I will say I had zero regrets selling the GT350 for the GT. I wanted the faster car with the A10 and that is exactly what I got.

Disclaimer is I never took either on a road course but I feel with the upgrades and fast car, the GT would hang if not beat the GT350 on a road course same driver same conditions if it did not go into limp mode due to heat. No extra coolers on the GT..

A base GT no mods is no comparison to the GT350 though.

I have always wanted one......was my dream car. However when the C8 was announced for under 60K, it no longer was. Cannot justify the price when the C8 will smack up the GT350R in every imaginable way.....including the track. Also that's where it fails.....for daily driving the gen 3 Coyote will be much easier to live with....GT350R is a track car, but is now too much money.

That being said, it still has the best exhaust note I've ever heard....and the way it revs and looks......good lord.

GT350 is a Shelby! It's limited production, amazing engineering in the flat plane crank engine and looks that kill the 18-19 GT.
I'm sorry but the only reason to prefer the Gt is if you can't afford the GT350 or if you can't enjoy driving a stick.

To say anyone prefers the GT over the 350 because they can’t afford one is simply not true.

I could afford either or both if I wanted, and chose the GT. I just drove mine on all backroads to Tulsa and back home down tonight on some curvy Oklahoma roads with great straight stretches and had a blast on my catback only PP1 M6.

I mentioned this in the other GT350 thread. It really depends if we’re talking about a brand new GT350 @ $60k+ or a 2017 GT350 w/10k miles for $40k that I’m finding all the time now. At $60k, I agree with most of the naysayers in this thread. At that price point, it’s time has come and gone. At $40k though, it’s a different story.

Much more of a bargain at that price, but for me the risk of no warranty with the Voodoo was a no.

I originally wanted and started my search for a GT350 and although I could afford it, I didn't want to afford it for something that I drove about 7000 miles per year. I looked at the cost of ownership and the extended warranty was higher than the GT, the interior wasn't as nice, oil consumption and engine failures scared me. Also, since I don't do any track driving it would have been a waste of money for me. I liked the look of the GT better interior wise as well as the amenities. Now do I still love the GT350 yup, but I'll probably never own one. But I do love my PP1.

I do....I would have gotten the GT350 if it came with an A10 or a DCT. Living in LA with a stick is a no go for me. I love and enjoy my GT with a 10r80.

I love the looks of the GT350, I mean, that thing is boss. I do wish they upgraded the rear tail lights for the '18+ GT350s; doesn't make sense to me not to change the tail lights. Anyway, I do love my GT, but can't say I would love it more than a GT350 if I owned a GT350 instead. A major selling point for me of the '18 GT was the A10 and Safe and smart package. Safe and Smart = a lot of safety tech. A10 = very fast for a stock car. I also couldn't justify the extra $20k considering I don't track the car. For me it came down to justification, and I couldn't on the GT350.I could, however, justify the '18 GT premium, PP1, A10, MagneRide, and Safe and Smart package. Pretty great combination for my preferences. Love the looks, performance, and options.

I laugh at the argument that the GT350 has a higher cost of ownership because it doesn't.

A set of 4 tires is only $170 more than a 2018 PP1. Once Michelin releases GT350 fitment tires in the PS4S that delta will likely decrease.

The only thing that costs substantially more is the brake rotors which last longer due to better cooling so that is up for argument.

I daily mine and ran a cost analysis before committing to one, it's marginally more expensive than a 2018+ PP1. Cost of ownership is a moot point.
