I wanted to capture the day at Watkins Glen International for our group. By including the Pace Car, it tells the story well. The lighting at midday and cloudy wasn't the greatest so I angled my camera down to minimize the sky in the photo.

Must have done something right with this one from Disney's Animal Kingdom at Walt Disney World to hit Explore on flickr.

Good exposure at 1/125s, f/16 and ISO 110 with a little help from a filter in Skylum's Intensify CK called Soft HDR.

Equipment used: Nikon D750 FX dSLR Camera and Nikon 28-300VR Lens at 28mm Focal Length.

I miss my D750. Moving to Canon was a better decision for me (I can use friends equipment free, including a 300mm F2.8) but I just haven’t gotten used to it yet. Still prefer the D750 over my 6D or 7DII. His 5DIV is nice though.

Been extremely absent from posting lately.

Have taken a step away from automotive photography but recently started shooting a lot more frequent.
Got the opportunity to shoot rolling photos of my own car as well as a few others cars.

Also took some stationary ones of my car on some fresh pavement after messing with some spacers to get some better "fitment" when aired out.

Most of these were actually while driving having someone else hold the steering wheel.

I shoot with a Canon 6DMarkII and majority of my rollers are done with my Canon 16-35mm F2.8 USM III. I typically try and shoot in TV (Shutter Priority) mode. This lets me set my shutter speed and ISO and the camera will compensate with the F Stop being "Auto."

Depending on speed and the look you are trying to achieve, start somewhere around ISO 100. I rarely change this unless its extremely bright; I have my camera "extended" so I can use ISO 50. Nikon's have this but its in a different form; unsure of the terms they use. Then set your shutter speed to somewhere around 1/40th of a second and test things out. If things are still dark, try stepping down. Some of the photos posted above are at 1/15th, ISO 50, and f11-f16 range.

With Canon, I love the Live View so when I have more time to play around (riding as a passenger) I use Live View when I put the camera closer to the ground (See second Challenger photo above). Otherwise try a larger focusing area and focus near the closest point on the vehicle through the view finder.

I'm sure @myboostedgst can chime in and aid slightly with some more info.

Damn I didn’t know this thread was here.

A lot of good information. I’m still a rookie but just picked up a new 135mm f.2 lens. It’s a portrait lens but still not good enough to suck it up for a 70/200 since I’m using Sony mirrorless.

Drove over the Letchworth State Park in western New York and found a nice place for a Mustang pic.

Processed in Lightroom Classic which various dodging and burning to even out the exposure.
