Hi everyone, what tires do you recommend as alternative for the pp2 tires? Looking for something with a longer tread life.

Wow can you post some pictures also could you fit some 35s instead of 30s on your pp2?

Michelin Pilot Sports 4S's. I'm happy although I'm not sure what kind of mileage I'll get. They've only been on the car 3k miles but so far they've been great.

Bridgestone Potenza S-04 Pole Position 305/30/19 f&r. The Bridgestones are $464 a set cheaper than the PS4S through Wal-Mart.com (Ford dealer will price match). The Bridgestones have worn great in 8K miles. Treadwear is 280 on the Bridgestones vs 300 on the PS4S, and they stick really well in dry weather. I've been very pleased with them performance wise and overall, but I may try the PS4S next time as they are the best rated UHP summer tire. I'm just not sure they will be $464 better.

Pretty sure I remember a member running 305/35/19 on a PP2 with no issues. I'd consider running 325/30/19 on the back since they are only about 0.5" taller than 305/30/19 and you can't rotate front to back anyways. I'd be hesitant going 305/35/19 since they are 1.25" taller than 305/30/19 and I'm afraid it might make a noticeable difference in gearing. It did fill out the wheel wells better, but I prefer handling and performance over looks.

Here's a pic of the 305/30/19 Bridgestones. They are a decent looking tire. Great dry weather tire, but I really can't comment much on wet weather handling as my car rarely sees a rainy day. Wet weather is where I've read the PS4S are supposed to really shine.

I ran a set of V12 Evo's on my GTO. Awesome dry traction, but seemed to fall off in the second half of tread life. They are definitely a viable option at a little over $200 per tire.
That's true. I should have purchased some Nitto 305s but due to cup 2s kept getting punctured I decided to go the hankook route because the car was less than a month old and I didn't want to spend another $1500 on some tires.

I would not be the least bit surprised.

The PSS has been one of I think two go-to street tire choices for wet track day sessions, and I'm talking really wet not just a sprinkle or a brief shower.

The PS4S is by all accounts better still.

Camera shake at 12:15 or so corresponds to about 110 mph once I got out of the spray.

Firestone Firehawk Indy 500's. Won't find a better tire for the price. Michelin Pilot Sports are the best but they cost about $500-$600 more than a set of Firehawks.

The Firestones 500 is not made in our tire size unfortunately .
