A chip in my windscreen from a couple of months ago suddenly grew right across my line of sight - time to fix it. RAC Insurance sent me to O'Briens Glass who (when questioned) said there was no Ford logo in the fritting behind the rear vision mirror. RAC's fine print says they can replace the glass with any Australian Standards-compliant glass (ie after-market glass). I asked O'Briens how much extra (above the standard $100 windscreen excess) for Ford glass. I decided I didn't need a Ford logo after-all for $1,000 extra !!

I think I should have taken advantage of RAC's excess-free offer of windscreen chip/crack repairs - it may (or may not) have prevented this from happening.
