This reminded me... it would be nice to get a 'PDR version' like the Corvette/Camaro offer.

Best Regards,
Dave

Those shifts were like whoa.......

Going to be real interesting watching those test laps in the hands of Randy P or other great test drivers.

I think 75 in 2nd and 105 ish for 3rd is pretty short for something with 625 lb feet lol .
Mph in lower gears is a function of gear ratio, engine rev limiter and tire size and zero to do with engine power but yes.. close and short gear ratio gearbox is nice I'm hoping for only 2 OD gears but doubt it.

Total tq to the wheels has a shit ton to do with putting the power down as in engine Tq times multiplication through gearing ... this car revs to 7500 and has similar speed in gear to the 350 despite 200 lb feet more Tq. Are you seriously complaining that it’s geared too tall ???? For track use this gearing looks perfect , too short and it won’t hook up until 3rd gear.

And those are determined by the torque output of the engine. Thrust calculations are down to determine the ideal gear ratios and final drive, which also take into account the tractive ability of the tires intended on being used.

If the GT500 had super short gears and say, went 90mph in 3rd, 1st & 2nd gear would be unuseable as the tires would just spin and the motor would immediately bounce off the rev limiter.

The problem with a car that has a lot of torque, is the gears are longer. This reduces the shifting and "fun" of a manual transmission. You don't see vipers banging through gears like a torqueless Ferrari, GT3, or 4cyl sports car.
