GMC is it's own name plate sales are by name plate not by combining to name plates. Trying to combine name plates is a typical c6g move design to give a feel good win even so if you combine chevy and gmc the YTD total is 354180 Ford YTD total is since you can't read is 448395 which give Ford a 94215 YTD sales lead.

Good question but Ram has been aggressive with discounts where chevy hasn't. If chevy get serious with discounts they might take back 2nd place but I doubt it discounts don't fit their profit first profile.
