The 2019's clutch seems lighter than my 2015 Z/28 and took some time to get used to it. So I was looking at the mod, but decided to give it some time. I'm glad I did now.

no clue really... maybe just to take all pressure off the slave?
Sooo... looking again... maybe this one has just been removed?

Well that would be a bummer unless Ford has greatly revised the pedal operation to operate more linearly than the previous one.
Just remove the spring. My R has been springless for 18 months, perfectly linear and feel, zero slop.

Looks like Ford replaced the old spring assembly with a torsion spring on the upper pivot. They just didn't spec a different pedal, so the mounting post for the old spring is still there. No harm in that.

Note the 2019s have a spring at the upper pivot whereas the 2018 with removed spring does not.

Agreed but as pointed out prior to this, the way that spring I is coiled and attached, it is a return spring which would be increasing pedal pressure as opposed to removing it.

Update... i think the return spring is in there because my (18) pedal with assist spring removed has about 1/4" of play at the top so the pedal flops around a bit.... i bet that torsional spring is only there to take out that slack.

^^ agreed. the old style assist spring does appear to double as a return spring by the nature of how it pivots... so makes sense they'd do something to cover that part of the functionality.
