Sync 3 is version 2.2
are these the latest versions available, I've searched and cant find the info

Yeah it was updated in March by the dealer when i had the oil changed.

I think you can also update by signing up to the Ford Aust website and downloading it from there, if that helps

I found that ensuring your USB device is USB3.0 (you can tell bc the little thing inside the plug is blue rather than black like 2.0 devices), and i used the usb port in the centre console rather than under the head unit. Also ensure no other cables plugged in to the HU usb port when doing it i.e. only the update usb in the centre console is plugged in.

Took a while to get it initialised but then it was done and dusted pretty smoothly. I tried a few other ways but this is the only one that actually initialized the update after detecting the usb. It always detected there was an update on a usb prior to that with my other attempts but the message that flashed never actually changed

I couldn't find a place to download the update. I found a place to request a download for an update to my Sync2 (which I did) - does that include the maps, or is just an "operating system" update ?

No idea re Sync2 to be honest. I only know how to update Sync3 (they're completely different systems so you'll never be able to update from 2 to 3 unless you do a headunit change i believe, there are threads by US guys on how to but not sure how it'd work in Aust)

I didn't realise initially you were on Sync2.

FYI the naming can get confusing since the name is like a model and then there are versions within each. i.e. Sync3 v3.0 or Sync3 v3.3

they didn't update anything during the first service but they did leave the oil filter loose

went back got the update to Sync version 3.0
nav maps is now ANZ 1 18
Grace note was updated also,whatever that is
so all good
